Boudoir - worth it?

Boudoir - worth it?

Anyone have information about boudoir sessions that you are willing to share? Friends of mine who have done it swear that it was the best investment they made saying they never imagined their bodies would look like that! Do you supply your own outfits? Does it have to be done at your home? Any input or price ranges that you can share with me would be great!!!! Thanks

Yes I've heard the same thing. I'm supposed to have mines done this month. I was told to bring a couple of different outfits and moisturizer. It can be done in your home but I think it's more expensive if they come to you.

Completely Worth It! I haven't even seen all my photos yet, I can say it is totally worth it just from the one teaser I got.
I did my shoot with French Kiss Boudoir and Irina was fantastic. I'm really shy and a size 16, so I was nervous about doing this, but it was a great experience.
She has her own studio in the city, so that made it easy. I bought the package when she was having a special, but her regular pricing is still reasonable when compared to others as well.

Yes, you bring your own outfits - I think it can be done at your home or photographer's studio. I took mine with Jenerations and was happy with them overall but her prices have gone up significantly since I took them. I'd look into more reasonable boudoir photographers if you're interested in getting them done.

This precisely. I love Jen and I do feel her images are the BEST in the business (at least here on LI) but I can't get with the new pricing. I understand she's grown by leaps and bounds since I've taken my photos last October but I would not, could not pay those prices. I've seen Leslie Simmons recommended, though I'm not sure about pricing, but her images are beautiful as well.

As far as outfits, yes you provide them yourself. The first boudoir shoot I did I spent a ton of money on outfits- all from Vicky's. They were cute and all, but not worth the money I spent. The next time I did a boudoir shoot was around Valentine's Day so I went to a cheap-o store (I think it's called Arcade America? Yeah, cheap-o) and bought some of the cutest pieces. My favorite piece that I bought was from there and was under $10.

For location, that depends on the photographer. Jenerations has 2 studios- her home and a studio in LIC. Some other photographers prefer to go to your home. I actually know someone who did b-pics in her home and I loooooooooooved how they came out. It made them a little more personal, too, KWIM?

Anyway, sorry for rambling! HTH!

ETA: This is the piece that was under $10!

This photo is compliments of Lightful Photography who is super fun and talented, but does more family photography than boudoir.

THIS!!! I just got my photos back today and i LOVE what Irina does. I went with my sister/ MOH (i did it as part of her gift)and her pics are wonderful too! It is a ton of fun and I have never felt this good about my body! I can't wait to give them to FH the day of the Wedding :) You bring your own stuff, but Irina has a bunch of things also, if you want to play.

Very worth it! I went to fashion shots in miller place the lady made you feel so comfortable and the pics were amazing! They have different packages for the amount of pics you want. I brought my own outfits they had some there and she used props and accessories for all my different looks! A lot of fun plus they do your hair & makeup:)

Jenerations is crazy expensive, like over $1000!! I booked with Leslie Simmons in Ronkonkoma. She has tons of pics on her website. She has her own studio too!
