We are getting married at Bourne bc we wanted something unique. There are 3 mantels and tons of other places to put candles. Does anyone know where I can pillar candles in bulk for cheap? Any Bourne brides have suggestions for other decorating ideas? Does anyone know if you can have the fake trees put away? And does the florist put out the candles or would I drop them off at the Bourne? Thanks!

I'm not sure. I was wondering the same thing about who sets up the candles and picture frames. I think you can have those fake tress put away.
I was doing a CP on the entrance table. And a 3 piece floral arrangement on the fireplace in the blue room. The other fireplaces and bookshelves will be decorated with Picture frame and candles. For CH I have a bunch of fish bowl vases so I am going to have them filled with water and floating roses with candles around.

Something I thought of after my original post. I think we might put pictures of the groom growing up on one manetl, pictures of me growing up on another and then pictures of us together on the third.

Hi! My florist is John at Flower Michele and as far as I know he is setting up all the candles & pictures... on the mantles and tables, etc. You can probably have the trees removed... I doubt that's a big deal!
My idea might be more of a big deal...I was considering having my band set up in front of the organ rather than in the middle of the ballroom where they are normally set up. This is because I'm concerned about the sound bouncing around too much in such an open space. I think if the organ is behind them then the sound would have more to bounce off of. I have heard that sound in the Bourne ballroom is difficult to manage because the ceilings are so high. If I am able to set up this way then the dance floor would be moved in front of the band and the tables arranged accordingly.
Also, did you girls hear that they are supposedly putting in 2 more bathrooms?? Go to the 07 Brides board & look for the thread 'Any Bourne Mansion 07 brides?' for the info!

Ben said that they are putting in 2 to 3 under the stairs to the bridal suite. I am told the are also replacing the curtains in the library as well as the cushions under the window. That was huge for me in my decisions. I told him I didn't like them and he said they were getting changed with the curtains.

my florist is bringing some type of bowl filled with water, with wicks in it. I haven't seen it yet, but he said it should light the whole bowl and look like a fire.
