july 3rd is my birthday! it is beautiful there, isnt it? i am psyched that i found someone else going there. we wanted something different. most people have not heard of it. congrats to you! i will send you mail (if i figure it out) to talk about it.. i went to sign my contract for it when they were setting up a wedding, in the pouring rain. and it was still so beautiful!

We are going to contact Ben soon to go see it when a wedding is all set up. When I think about it there, I just can't help but get excited! You almost feel like you're home when you're there, right?? Yes, definitely FM me

i really cant wait to hear how it is! it is such a beautiful place, and they seem really profesional. im sure you will have a great time! are you two having any extras? like extended reception, or martini bar? we have been considering it, but am not sure if it is worth it?!!

Ack...i'm ready to puke when I think about it. I can't believe how close it is.

Hopefully I'll have pics for you that following Sunday.

We're extending the reception, doing the Vienesse hour/table, but I didn't know anything about a Martini Bar!?! Tell me more!!!!

Hmmm...I love a good vodka martini!!!

Re: Bourne Mansion brides?

We are also extending the reception. I think it sounds like such a great idea! We are thinking about doing the international coffee and cordial bar or the hot fondue station. I think that would be so fun! Mmm...martinis!

Re: Bourne Mansion brides?

Oh, Jenny, do you know what the placecards they give you look like? I keep forgetting to ask if anyone's seen them.

Re: Bourne Mansion brides?

they have a martini bar that you can pay (i think) $5 per person for just coctail hour, and $8 per person for the who reception. and do you know if they have a 'no shot' policy?

Re: Bourne Mansion brides?

and do they have colored linens as choices, or just beige and white. i dont think i asked ben. this is awesome that i finally get to 'talk' to other people about it. and you know what I am talking about. i saw the menu printed when they were setting up, but not place cards. and do you set them up on a table outside of the ballroom or when you walk in before the coctail hour? and one last question, where are you two having your ceremony?

Re: Bourne Mansion brides?

There is a no shot policy, but that just means the best man can do his job and bring a flask
As for the linens, they have an OK selection, but there is a number on their list of house venfors for linen upgrades. I am doing white on white with gold accents, so I am just using their white linens. But we might get chair covers from the place that does the upgrades. Still undecided on that since the chairs are gold and white, it might be silly to pay extra.
We are getting married at Bourne. We're not religious and we really just love it there, so why not?
I'm not sure where we are going to set up the place cards. Maybe right when you walk into the blue room, or right before the ballroom. Not sure. Are you girls going to give them pictures to put on the mantles? We decided we're going to.

Re: Bourne Mansion brides?

we definately are giving pics. we had an engagement party and had a photographer there just to take a lot of pics so we could frame them and put them up at the mansion. i have been going through sentimental things and framing them, like letters (not too personal ones) and cards from others congratulating us on our engagement. i have been using some frames that people gave us for our engagement and framing the pics, cards, and letters. just to make it more personal. might as well, since the day is only for you two!
