Re: Bourne or Royalto
I've been to a wedding at The Bourne Mansion and it was absolutely beautiful. Food was pretty good, but I will say the cocktail hour was very tight, it rained the day of the wedding I went to and cocktail hour had to be inside and I think for the amount of guests she had cocktail hour was tight. Other than that it was beautiful. I visited Royalton for my wedding prior to booking The Inn @ NHP and it was nice just not as extravagant and mansion like as I hoped. I've been to a wedding there too and food is great. Whichever you choose it will be great, both places are very beautiful.

i went to a wedding at bourne and it was very nice - food was great. The cocktail hour is tight (it was a nice night so we were able to go outside) but there is no where near enough seats for everyone...not even half the guests could sit so we were stuck standing and eating. IMO just from visting venues, the cocktail hour offerings seemed very limited. We also had a hard time hearing the speeches and the music kind of echoed; i am not sure if that was a function of the DJ or the acoustics in the room since it has high ceilings. It was a beautiful venue and the food was good have not been to the royalton so I cant help with that one...sorry

Re: Bourne or Royalto
Never went to a wedding at Bourne but its beautiful. However, FH's sister had her wedding at the Royalton and it was AMAZING!!! The customer service was incredible. You get to pick your own menu...anything you want they will get it for you. And speaking from the family of the bride- you couldn't have asked for anything more. Everything was amazing. I highly suggest it!
Only one minor downfall to the place- they will not allow you to walk around with bottles of beer. Instead they put them in wine glasses. Just a personal thing but it drove FH nuts since you can't fit a whole beer in a wine glass. At the very least they should have had pilsner glasses.
I've never looked into Royalton, but Bourne looks GORGEOUS! But my dreams were shattered once I saw the site fee ...ah well.

Same here... I am so happy with TC, but Bourne will always be 'the wedding that never was'.

I'm actually leaning a little more towards the royalton but for no other reason than I felt more of a connection there and bc I feel u get more food. But for those of you who say you loved the thought of getting married at the Bourne, can I ask you why? Is it the whole mansion feel?

i'm getting married at the Royalton, so of course i'm biases, but the Bourne Mansion is also beautiful.
I think they have similar feels, but I felt a TRUE connection with the Royalton. When I stood in the ballroom i just knew this was the place. I also loved the attention to details the staff gives you and the personal attention they provide you.

Re: Bourne or Royalto
I felt the connection with the royalton not the Bourne. I also didn't care for the bournes bridal suite. I like the idea that at the Bourne I can choose anytime of the day for my wedding. I also feel it's more of a mansion than the royalton. Ugh why am i making myself crazy over this?

this, i wasn't impressed by the bourne.... it was beautiful, but there were a lot of things i thought should have been better for the price of this place... never been to the royalton though...

Re: Bourne or Royalto
For me it was definitely an amazing feeling, my FH said he knew the moment we turned down the gate and drove up the driveway.....It's hard to give advice when it comes to a feeling, but it definitely was just that for me with the Bourne...

If you don't mind me asking, what was the site fee? It's interesting that they include so much information on their website, but no mention of site fee.

My vote is for Royalton!
Their cocktail hour is huge and they will cater a menu specifically for you.
