A lot of halls I'm talking to say I need to have a napkin or box to put the cake slices on/into.
Are any of you getting boxes so guests can take a piece home?

I got boxes so that our guests could take home items from our vienesse hour.
I got them at www.webstaurantstore.com and they were 5 1/2' x 4' x 3'. We also ordered the paper to put in the box as well.
That size would definitely fit a slice of cake; just not sure it's the size you want.
We also put a little label on the top of the box with a little saying on it.
ETA: we got about 250 boxes for $17.99

We are geting boxes, not sure from where yet, but we are. Our menu has palted dessert, so we would have the guests take a piece of cake home as part of their favor. Double Duty!

I think I saw cake clice boxes at Michaels...but that is a good idea.

I was also planning on doing this and putting them out at the VH so guests could take cake and pastries home. I don't know if I'm doing regular boxes or chinese food containers though.

I'm taking any leftover cake home with ME.
By that point, the guests have attended your ceremony, ate great food, drank, danced, had a fun time...yeah, I think at that point, any leftover sugary goodness is something I'm going to be selfish with.

I just ordered boxes for the V hour so guests could take home goodies...I ordered them from oriental trading...there were like 3.99-4.99 per dozen. THey also has chinese containers and wedding themed boxes

shouldnt the RH supply that if you and FH decide to take any left-over food/cake at the end of the reception?

You should ask your RH if they do; I initially asked my RH if we could send extra VH food home with our guests. They said only if we supply the boxes and have them put together.
Each hall may be different though.

Absolutely not! I personally don't like that idea and if the guests want something wrapped up the RH should do so.
