Boy or Girl, Which Sonogram is right?

So I'm talking to my friend the otherday, she's due Jan 27. She was taken out of work at 30 weeks, her job was to physically demanding. Well she asked for her OB to do an extra sonogram so she could find out the sex. He did and told her it was a girl. She painted the room pink got all pink clothes at her shower etc!!
Well at 35 weeks they send her for indepth sono at the hospital to make sure all is okay and the tech tells her..... it's a boy!!!
she's currently on complete bedrest, and giong out if her mind!! But she's glad the baby's PERFECTLY healthy!!
Now her husband has to repaint the entire room and she will be spending her first days after she's recovered returning everything she got!!
She's glad she found out before she took the tags off off anything!! Including the pink crib bedding she bought!!
In the meantime she stopped placing bets on the sex of the baby, she said looks like we're gonna have to findout the old fashion way!!
Oh Well!!

I thought when they say its a girl, its not 100% but when they say its a boy, it probably is. They should just play it safe, and have something set up neutral just in case.

i worked at a infant clothing store during college and i can not tell you how many times people had to return the 'coming home' outfit because it was the wrong color!!! we would have dads and grandparents at the store, frantic to return the stuff so baby could go home in the proper color. most times, people were told it was a girl when it turned out to be a boy. i don't remember too many times that it worked out the other way.

I guess her baby wants them to be surprised. It is more likely the baby is a boy though.

I'm not a mom yet or even TTC, but this is the main reason I wouldn't want to know the sex. I too have heard several stories about nieces becoming nephews and a Nicole becoming a Nicholas. I would hate to get excited about one and then end up with the other. I'd rather be surprised period.

Oh My!! That's one of my main reasons, as JennP said, for waiting to be surprised. Sometimes you may just be anyway!

One of my friends was told she was having a girl and ended up getting everything from the shower for a girl, well thankfully she didn't take off any of the tags or anything because she ended up having a boy! Also, they did a neutral color for the nursery.

The ironic thing is she swore in the beginning (before the sono) that she was having a boy!
