Well CBS has told Janet she will not be attending or performing at the grammies. Of course alot of African Americans are in an uproar, cause young Mr. Timberlake was not banned. It does seem a bit one sided. I wasn't going to watch anyway. What do you ladies think???

She is the one apoligizing...not him. He said he had not idea that the was going to expose flesh...he thought only the top part would come off.
Personally, I think they should both be banned...why the hell did he even have to rip off any of her clothing???

Oh please...Justin knew what was going to happen. His band mate JC got pushed out of performing at the Pro Bowl And nothing happens to Justin
Both should be banned.

Re: Boycott of the grammies
I agree with the masses, and both of them should be banned.
I am not going to go into the issue of race and gender because that would cause unneccessary drama, but all I will say is it is not fair.

I, personally am not upset about the nipple... that sounds funny....anyway...Im upset that he felt that he had to rip her clothes off on national TV.
It was a stunt gone bad....that will be the next Fox reality show!!

Re: Boycott of the grammies
I don't think either should be banned.....so many things are hypocritical as Michele pointed out.
I'm pretty liberal with things, but this is not the first attempt lately of 'morally wrong' things!
Are we going to ban everyone who may have crossed the line?

Just want to make myself clear, I do not think this situation warrants either of them being banned, BUT if they are choosing to do this, it should be both NOT one.

yes, I agree, but I just don't see that either should be banned! IMO that's getting a bit too carried away, but it's wrong to point the finger at one and not the other.

Re: Boycott of the grammies
Kid Rock sang gross things about women in his songs, Nelly had dazed-looking girls dancing around them, and the cheerleaders are half-dressed. The whole 'use 'em and lose 'em' attitude was going on throughout the Super Bowl.
But if the Grammys are going to ban Janet, they should ban Justin too. WHY is it ok to rip off someon's clothes? ESPECIALLY A MAN RIPPING OFF A WOMAN'S CLOTHES? !!

It is totally wrong that they are making her take all the blame for it and letting Justin get off scott free. What about all the other people behind the scenes. Truthfully they should have not made a big deal about this at all!

Re: Boycott of the grammies
First off.. I think tossing in the Race card for this is annoying. Black, white or Hispanic, there was a boob on TV and CBS is reacting.
Secondly... Janet was the one with the bright idea. Yes, I can see she should be held responsible. Banning her? That's stupid, it brings MORE attention to the matter, in my opinion.
Justin was an idiot, but did actually apologize first (shocker, pfft) and if he's telling the truth then he had no idea that the red thing would come off too. (hrmm lets leave that to the unkown for now). The point is, I don't think Justin is banned because Janet took responsiblity for the stunt and left poor Justin looking like a lost boy (as if). ETA: So he ripped her clothes off.. if this stunt had gone has planned and we saw red lace this wouldn't be a story.. it *IS* ok to rip off clothes.. see the Nelly/P.Diddy part? It's just not ok to show T&A bare. It would be hypocritical to ban Justin for just the act of ripping off clothes but say nothing about P.Diddy & Nelly.
Lastly, WHO CARES?!?!?!? If 1% of views don't watch because Janet is banned 10% will watch to see the jokes you KNOW will be tossed in during the show. It's a wash.

Re: Boycott of the grammies
i'm not watching them anyway...it is all show and little talent...when aerosmith wins for a song they didn't write over the genius of dave matthews, i tend to get a little bitter.

Re: Boycott of the grammies
Instead of banning them from the grammies, if viewers don't like what they did - don't buy their records!!!
this will hurt them a LOT more than banning them from a TV show.
IMO -- this thing is getting WAY TOO MUCH air time as it is.
