BP Gifts

BP Gifts

So FH and I were chatting and he was wondering (which made me wonder) how much should we be spending on the BP gifts?

I never really thought about it. I just figured that I would get the girls jewelry or something. I guess one of his friends that is also getting married is in someone elses bridal party and they are getting tickets to the 2008 AllStars baseball game at Yankee stadium, since it is the last year at Yankee stadium. Now as FH is a die hard Mets fan he is thinking about Mets tickets...

I know that we have soooo much time before we need to worry about this, but thought you ladies might have some ideas...

TIA

The cost of those Yankee All Star tickets will not be something most people can afford!!!!!

I spent 50 dollars per girl & that's what he's going to spend per guy...

Yeah, that sounds normal. When he told me about the tickets I almost had a heartattack. There is no way that we can afford to buy two tickets for every guy in the BP (5)...

No - even with a group rate - tix are insanely priced. Get out of the tri-state area and it's doable...but not here.... Maybe tix to a minor league team could be fun! Those tix are typically 7 - 8 bucks each...could always do Ducks tickets...

I am thinking LL Bean tote bags with their monogram. Filled with some goodies.. Pics of the totes in my Other wedding stuff album...

this is around the price range I was thinking too. Sometime i read what people are getting their BP or as favors on here, and i just wish I had more money for them.

This sounds about right. If you can afford more then something extra would be nice but for the most part $50 is good. I want those Yankee All Star tickets

I know that if you get bleacher tickets for Yankee Stadium at a group rate (20 or more people) it comes to about $12 per ticket. I know you said he likes the Mets (poor thing) but I do believe that the Mets tickets are usually cheaper than the Yankees tickets.

I got the girls a personalized canvas tote from LLBean ($25), the DO jewelry ($25), platform flip flops ($10), Martini glass ($25 - see album), $25 toward their DO makeup and their shawl ($50)... $150/girl - They paid a lot of money for their dress, shoes, hair, etc. - it's only right they get something from me to say thanks...

FH got guys a personalized pewter tankard ($60), my FHs favorite book 'I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell' by Tucker Max (totally a guys book - and funny for us too!) ($15) and a fedora for the day of ($50)...

Those tote bags are a great idea! I love giving (and receiving) presents with a whole lot of things inside! I can't wait to start putting these together. But I guess I have to, I have over a year!!!

So a random story for you guys...
I was in a wedding where we received the worlds worst 'gift' and remember how the rest of the BP was disgusted by it. I hope this doesn't sound too horrible but they 'gift' was a slap in the face. (She gave us fake 'jewelry' from Claires that made all of our skin change colors, and a pair of the $1 chinese slippers that you buy on the corner in the city) After all we spent on her special day... Ughhh. Honestly I would have rather received nothing...

Anyway, thanks for the great ideas!!!

That ***** w/ the gift. Was she just ultra cheap? I think you can give a nice gift and not spend over the top $$$ - just plan early, look for sales & make it personal
