BP stressing me out!!!!

Well my girls have finally decided to go try on the dress I picked out MONTHS ago. We I just got a call from two of them, saying that the dress looks horrible on them and that it would look bad on a couple of the other girls, because of their body type. I do not have time to start looking for another dress now!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what to do....Sorry to vent....

I don't understand what today's bridal parties (not mine) complain about... they should be happy they're not wearing Bright Yellow Taffeta dresses with yellow bonnets.

Are the dresses all ordered already?

I know exactly what your going thru. Some of my BM's put me thru hell especially when it came to their shoes

I'm sorry you are going through this! Tell them to shape up or ship out!

what does the dress look like? Did you make an effort to choose a style that would be flattering on their figures?

While I can certainly understand your frustration at them not trying on the dress earlier, which they should have done, it's perfectly fair for them to put on the dress, feel completely self conscious and awful in it, and let you know that it doens't look good on them. I'm sure it's a beautiful dress, but a lot of beautiful dresses look like crap on a lot of people.

After all, I'm assuming that you're not going to buy the dress for them all, and I don't think anybody should have to pay for a dress that makes them feel ugly, and then have to wear it all day and look at it in pictures for years to come.

I would see if you can just go to a store with as many of them as possible and try to choose a dress all together in one day, and order it on the spot, if you're worried about it coming in on time. Although if your wedding isn't until October, that should really leave you plenty of time with most designers...

anyway. This is why I'm only having 2 bridesmaids, and I'm going to go shopping with them so that they can just choose the dress for themselves. From what I've seen, it seems like all you get from a big bridal party is a big headache!

I agree with this. you still have 4 or so months to find another dress. i dont think its fair for them to wear something they feel uncomfy in unless you're footing the bill. true, they should have gotten to it earlier, but that can't be helped now. you still have some time left.

Do you think the dresses actually look horrible or are they being princesses?

ie if you had a silky material that showed someone's mid section and made them look super fat, you may want to consider changing the fabric. vs if the girls aren't super crazy about their arms but you had them wear a spaghetti strap BM dress. then it's tough luck.

What does the dress look like?

A lot of times the sample BMs dresses look horrible regardless because they usually aren't the right size/color so it's hard to get a good idea of what the dress will look like when it fits.

I was in a friends wedding once where we picked out the dresses together and then the bridal store said it wouldn't work with one of the girl's body types so she had the bride pick something else out. Needless to say it didn't work on any of us and there aren't many pics including the bridal party in her photo album.

Remember you want them to look nice because you will be looking at them the rest of your life :)

Tell them since they do not feel comfortable in the dress ask them if they can go look for a dress and let them show you the dress to see if you like it. Especially since they waited so long to go check it out.

Don't worry you have time - i haven't picked the bm dresses myself

Theya re messed up.. but I think you should pick a 2 piece dress.. with a A -Line skirt and let them pick the top of the dress that they want.
This way they can pick what looks right on them.
Is this an option for you ?
