Can I invite people to the bparty who are not invited to the wedding? We are having a small affair, but I want to include a couple of people like classmates who didn't make the cut for the wedding...I like them and want to celebrate with them, but if we included everyone we liked on the invite list it would have ballooned like crazy.
Thoughts??

Re: Bparty Etiquette?
FH is prob having 2 bparties. One in New Orleans with his close close friends and then a night out at a bar with EVERYONE. Since he's a fireman and on 3 hockey teams and has 43863023764857 friends, we couldnt possibly invite all of his friends. So lots of ppl who we probably wont be able invite to our wedding will be coming out to the bar. I think in this type of situation it is perfectly fine to have ppl come to your bparty who arent invited to the wedding. My bach party is in Vegas so obvs only my close girls are coming out for that and they are all invited to the wedding.

Re: Bparty Etiquette?
i ended up inviting one of my friends daughters to my bach party since we had an open ticket that was going to go to waste. Fh's lovely best man invited random dude to his bach party. thats another issue

Re: Bparty Etiquette?
it really depends. do these people you want to invite know they are not invited to the wedding/that you are having a small affair? if so, then i think it is fine.

Re: Bparty Etiquette?
well normally i wouldnt...but in my case i have a good friend who has 2 friends that i hang out with bc of her....they arent invited to the wedding just bc of numbers and what not but they are coming with my good friend to the bach party. its not weird either like they werent expecting to be invited to the wedding but just wanna come party at the bach party so it will be fine.

Re: Bparty Etiquette?
I read this wrong... new answer... it depends on the people. If you think they're going to be ok with it then yeah but if they're going to be pissy or feel slighted then I wouldn't.

I think for the b-party-- it's ok of they understand why they werent invited to the wedding. I wouldnt invite anyone to the shower that isnt invited to the wedding. I think it then looks like you are trying to get a gift from them

I don't see why not. I had one girl at my b party who isn't invited to my wedding.. She is the best friend of one of my coworkers (my coworker is invited to the weddding)..I had hung out with her a bunch of times before and think she's cool and fun but am not close enough to invite her to the wedding. I don't think she was offended about not being invited to the wedding.. I think she was so excited to party at my b party.

I wouldn't. I think I'd be insulted if I were invited to a Bparty (or especially a shower, as someone else said) and then wasn't invited to the wedding.

i agree. its an extension of the celebration for your wedding. kinda weird to only be invited to the pre-celebration
