1. I didn't get a food tasting before I booked it but only because I've been there before for a party and the food was great. I did go for food tasting after I booked it, but they only let you taste the cocktail hour! Just to keep that in mind. 2. I think they have 4 or 5 parties going on at the same time but from what I heard is that the brides never saw each other. I think they are pretty good with this task. 3. I will be taking pictures at either old westbury garden, planting field in oyster bay or sands point in port washington. 4. There's really no garden but a small, small area next to the parking lot (?). This is another reason why I'm going to another place for pictures. They do have nice backgrounds in door for pictures. 5. I'm not sure how much vienesse hr is.....I want to say $10-$14/pp, but don't quote me on that 6. This was the hot topic everyone was talking about. I thought it was included. I guess it really depends on the BM you speak to. I remember it clearly that it should be included, but I don't think it's on the contract. I'm going to argue for it when it's time for me to finalize everything with Leonard's. 7. the place cards will be on the table near the entrance for your cocktail hour room. One thing about leonard's is that they don't allow anything in their hallways....
Heheh...don't worry...these were the questions that I had as well when I was trying to find a venue. I know how you feel because FH husband and I also looked at over 10 place before we landed on Leonard's. I was very stressed out in the beginning of this wedding planning process, but I decided to take a breather because I know no matter what happens, it'll be the best day of my life!!!!!!! let me know if you need any help!!!!! Happy Planning!!!

Regarding number 7: If you are doing votive placecards then they can set them up for you in the reception room.

im not getting my food done from Leonards so i wouldnt even know how theyre food is, but from reviews and stuff i hear its good. Other than that, they do have nice spots for pic taking inside...and about Valet, ask ur BM. mines was not included for a party of 300 people they asked me for $500, but hey i guess everyones wedding is different, perhaps u can negotiate and add that in ur contract. Let us know what u book!

Re: BRAND NEW LEONARD'S OF GREAT NECK THREAD
well firstly u can ask ur BM how many other parties are scheduled for that day. I know as far as my date is concerned, ill be the only party at Leonards that day! =) hmm..yea theyre are mixed reviews about food, but than again i kinda feel like ...thats normal for about every hall... u can find the BEST place such as oheka castle, and some ppl will say wow, and others will say the food sucked and it was cold.
LIst ur concerns to ur ur banquet manager, and happy hunting for a hall =)

Re: BRAND NEW LEONARD'S OF GREAT NECK THREAD
no - way too many variables involved. it alomost happened but no cigar. we've invested so much at this point that now the safest route is to take the financial hit and be wise about other spending matters. we are most likely going to take our vacation at another time. we really wanted it now but the date switch thing didn't work. not going on a honeymoon right after helped a whole lot with this situation and we were able to get the full refund for that.

hi, i just recently book with leonards. ive been dealing with Antonio, he has been very helpful, i made a list of questions i had and he went over everyone with me......i mentioned that my fh & i both have large italian families that love to eat and the food had to be 'hot' & perfect!!!! he reassured me that EACH FLOOR had its OWN KITCHEN & wait staff. Just bc he said that doesnt mean there wont be any problems, but i was thinking about it and there are gonna be ppl that have different opinions & taste. So you cant really worry too much about it!! You cant please everyone!!!!
If you like it there and want to have your wedding there.....then book it!! Ya know......as long as you have a good dj and everyone is dancing & drinking and having a good time.....then i wouldnt worry about the food!!
Just my opinion....its important, but i wouldnt stress too much!!!
PLus the other girls that have had there weddings already all said the food was good & HOT!!!!

Re: BRAND NEW LEONARD'S OF GREAT NECK THREAD
Hi. I'm still considering Leonard's as my third choice. My first two being Larkfield Manor and Westbury Manor. I was just curious how many people does the Empire room hold? I'm having about 50-60 people and I don't want the room to be too big. What do your guys think, will my guests be floating around in a room that's too big? I want it to be kinda cozy. That was one of my concerns when I looked there. Thanks!

I was in the empire room before my list exploded(thanks to my mom). It has a max capacity of 120 people. You have to count yourselves and your photographer, video person, band/dj too.
