brand new to this!

please help!
I plan on booking my hall this week for a 11/07 wedding.

I think I need some major help.

What do I do first? My dress is ordered but that's all I've done.

Please help!

First off welcome, let the addiction begin.. Secondly I would begin calling halls and seeing who has a hall available . When that's done, book your church photog, dj/band and limos. Good luck! and theres so many girls on here that can recommend many amazing vendors!!

welcome! in addition to the above poster...get flowers, bridesmaid dresses (if you're having bridesmaids) and book hair and makeup.

If you are booking for November 07 definitely haggle with the reception hall for the best price. If they still have available dates this late in the game, they will definitely be in the mood to make a deal.

Def check out high Voltage if you want to go the DJ route. They have so many different packages in different price rages. Alot of girls used him for their wedding. Do a search for them...there are a TON of reviews.

Hi! Welcome! I would start calling halls, and also book your photographer and dj/band asap. When I booked my photographer for this year, there was already people booking them for next year

Good luck with your planning! Check out people's albums for lots of ideas!

Welcome aboard!!! I would definitely get your reception hall and church done first. You may be able to save extra time by getting married in the reception hall. Then follow with photo/video, florist, dj, limo, etc.

You want to get the bigger items out of the way first. Good Luck!!!

make sure to count the people your inviting to the wedding 1st and then give the wedding hall a count then book the dj and the photographer and video

Re: brand new to this!

hi

the three fastest vendors to book up are the reception halls, photographers, and believe it or not, the hair/make-up people.... so if I were you, I'd start with those. Since you want a november date, it may not be quite as hard as if you were planning a june or sept date with 4 months to go, so don't worry too much....

I highly recommend you going through the brides review forum.... you'll get candid comments about numerous vendors on LI....

good luck and welcome

oh, almost forgot, of course set a date with a church or temple, and try to match the available dates with your preferred hall.... Churches and temples book up VERY early

Welcome...............wow, good job with the dress. Find out your reception location first. Then see if you want the ceremony to be in the same location or somewhere else nearby. Then I would take care of the entertainment and photographer. Those are the first four major things.

Welcome! You picked a good date, and we were in the same boat as you. We got engaged in May 2007 and we will be married on November 18. Best bet is to get a magazine for LI brides, which has a list of catering halls. I would choose a handful and call before you go to find out what they have open..if they have your date, I would haggle with them, because even if they don't admit it, they are dying to book! You might want to be a little flexible on the date (you can get a better price), but if that is not an issue, I can't foresee

Also, once you get the venue, you want to order invites asap
