It kills me to think of spending $60+ on the bra/girdle contraption I need for my strapless dress. Does anyone know where to find one for less, hopefully in NYC or a dept store? Thanks!

Re: Bras
jennbaby, I forgot, are you using Karin Y as your seamstress? If so, did you find the cups that she provided to be comfy? I have my first fitting with her this Saturday

Re: Bras
kckc...I paid $60 for my bra thingy. I looked around, but that was the best price I found. Please let me know if you find it cheaper. Thanks!

Re: Bras
jennbaby, sorry, then I confused you with someone else...
I don't know how will my dress get steamed, I am assuming that she either knows of good cleaner nearby in Astoria to steam the dress or she does it herself...
To be honest, I haven't done my homework on this one!!!

Re: Bras
jennbaby, I just called KarinY b/c you made me worried. She said he knows of an Astoria cleaner with whom many of her customers have been happy with steaming and other cleaninng issues.
I hope this will help also to future brides who are planning to use Karin as a seamstress

Re: Bras
Hi, guys, I am using Karin Y. and she has been using the dry cleaner by her house who specializes in wedding gowns for many years now. He will steam the dress and dry clean it if necessary. Karin says he is very good at what he does and totally reliable. Hope it answers your questions!
Alina, Karen is really awesome, you will love her! Tell her Anya said hi, when you go for your fitting!
I am also getting bra cups sewn into my dress!

Re: Bras
Anya, are they comfy? The bra cups I mean. I hate wearing strapless bras and I think I'll be too hot if I wear a corset... I'll say hello from you!
Oh, and Congrats on finding another hall!!!

Re: Bras
Alina, they are! I also hate strapless bras because they never stay put! The cups look great and you doon't feel them at all. Karin pins them inside of the dress during the fitting and makes sure that you are comfortable and that the shape looks right! Then the next time you come in they are sewn in! So much better than a bra or a corset!
Thank you! We are all very pleased with Milleridge Inn!
