Bravura

Has anyone inquired into Bravura DJ? Looking to find out what quotes were given for dj, singer, and live music??

Re: Bravura

We met with them and really liked them except that they were never able to convince us they knew latin music well enough to play it at our reception.

They were probably one of the priciest DJ's we saw for what we wanted but since we saw them at a wedding last year and we liked them, we were still considering them. Then we went to our followup and they had us meet with the assistant (who didn't have any authority so what was the point???) and then she said they'd make a sample cd the next day, someone else would call us the next day... Almost a week later I called and spoke to the owner and I was very turned off by a few things - one was that he told me that they would NOT be able to send us a sample cd and (two) that the price would be $200 more than what we had discussed. This is after he professed that he was keeping us at our 2006 rates because we met with them in November and returned in January. Well, guess not.

Needless to say, this was a dealbreaker. I later read a post on LIW from a bride who said they booked her date from under her because the other couple was willing to pay more for that date. I sure hope they don't keep doing this to their customers because they'll be out of business if they do.

I will say, though, that if you're willing to deal with these type of switch-e-roos, they do throw a good party.

FH and I really like Bravura. Yes they are pricier then other DJs but I think that quality comes with it. As far as people having it booked out from under them, I really cant comment on that, but that s*cks. FH is friends with the owner so we are probably booking them soon. The prices that we got were right off the sheet:
$1900 for DJ and MC
CH Music: Live jazz trio or carribean music: $900 (1hr)
Reception: Percussion, Sax, Vocalist, keyboard: $750 per piece.

Yeah if you want them all. We are just going to get the percussionist. We had a bunch of stuff that we wanted added on and it came out to as much as a band!

We're using them, too. I've had only good experiences so far and they did a great job at my e-party. Our other choice was EJ the DJ and their prices were similar.
We also negoiated a little

They are pricing and I posted previously about them that I think the owner is a little shady.
But the prices are on the high side no matter what you think of them.
I don't think there is anything so special that they do the warrant the high prices. I went to a wedding there were the entertainment vendor and they did a good job but I don't think there's any special that they do that you couldn't find with another comany that has better prices and nicer to customers
