Hi Ladies! FH and I continue our search for a DJ and we have 4 appointments in the next week! Anyway, we saw Bravura last night and really liked them. Can someone who is booked with them (or maybe knows from their own appointments) tell me if you are getting any lighting packages and how do you feel about their lighting options? Thanks a lot!!! Hopefully we are getting to close to finishing our DJ search!!

not that we booked with them but when we were looking we thought........
they have a very simple lighting package. when we first talked with them they cut the price in half then when we told them they had the most expensive dj/mc combo compared to others they decided to give it to us for free.

Because I booked with on the spot from an appointment I made at our showcase our lighting is free. So, I have no idea what it entails.
I do have a price list (2008 pricing) in my folder, I can FM you.

We saw them at their showcase and from going rec'd a card that had 'coupons' we got their basic lighting package free from that.
I wasn't sure what type of lighting we would need, but they were familiar with our room and said the basic would be plenty!

Before we saw Bravura, we had our hearts set on doing uplighting around our room and a monogram on the dancefloor - not so much the intelligent lights and all that stuff. I have their price list, but it doesn't seem like they do that . . . is that right?

how is your dj search going? ive been gone for a few days so this is the first update ive seen
i started calling around a bit-but am i the only one who doesnt understand why the same thing will have like a thousand dollar price difference between companies?

Hi 20mrsc10! DJ search is on . . . still. Haha. We kind of fell in love with Bravura and are meeting with them on Saturday. I hope we can get what we want, but I'm unsure about their lighting packages. We may forego lighting through the dj and use a professional lighting company, if it comes to that!
We met with Body Rock last night. The woman was a total doll, but I don't think it is what we are looking for. They said you don't really get to pick your MC, which I found odd, because your account manager, essentially, will decide who is best for you based on how they get to know you. Well, if I'm booking NOW and you don't know me, how do you know if ANY of your MCs would be a good fit?? It didn't seem right. And their lighting prices were RIDIC. JMO.

Bravura lets you request your MC!! and a back up one if needed... also im not sure about the monogram on the dance floor but they do uplighting..

I ended up with a band, but if I went with a DJ Bravura would have been my choice, they are amazing!!

They do have up lighting but as far as I know, no name on the floor. They seem to have very simple, yet elegant, lighting systems. I was kind of set on the name thing too, but traded it out in the end b/c my FH really loved Bravura and he has no opinion on anything so we had to book them.
If you find they do indeed have the name on floor, let me know. I'll have to ask for it too!
Also, I know there was a thread or review a little whiles back about a really good lighting company... if i find it i'll send it your way!

I'm also researching and meeting with DJ's right now... Im meeting with a few next week and already have prices from a couple.
we should share some of our info for those of us searching right now! I am finding the DJ search to be pretty difficult, I have trouble differentiating the big differences between them and why some are so much more money! I have some prices for tommy tunes, after hours, castle entertainment and sound choice if you are interested!! could you FM me your quotes from bravura? i contacted them this week and did not get a response yet. thanks!! =)
