Yes i get it done all the time it is so much easier. You do not have to do it as often as shaving and it comes in thinner and lighter. I go to polished skin care lounge in Sayville on Main street. I see Christina she is awesome! She makes you feel so comfortable. I am not one to bare all or anything remotely close to it but she makes me feel comfortable and she is super fast!

Well, for me, I was screaming. Literally screaming. It would probably be good to add that I have over 25 hours of tattoos on my body!! Screaming. Buuuuut the results are so good! I've done it a bunch of times. The pain gets easier each time too. However I've heard a lot of horror stories about contracting STD's or other nasty fungus from the wax. Even if they use new sticks for each dip, it's very easy for bacteria to grow in the wax container because it's so warm and moist. That was enough for me! I won't get a brazilian in the states anymore, because I can't find any places that use fresh wax on each person. In Argentina (where my mom is from, and we visit frequently) NO ONE shaves anything. Believe it or not, disposable razors are too expensive and waxing is cheaper! Also, there are a lot of salons (including the one I go to) that you can pay a little extra and get fresh wax just for you. They also use the European method, which doesn't use strips. They use wax that they apply thickly, and when it cools, they just rip the wax. I've never had better results than with the Euro method. I found a place in the city that does the Euro way.

I definitely agree that the results are a million times better than shaving (softer re-growth, longer to regrow), but I'm not willing to risk getting some narsty shiit down there from a waxing place!

I went to this place in little brazil called buzios and they use fresh wax on each person and they are really clean. I loved it there.

Now I get my brazillian lasered off so no more wax for me

I use to go regularly for years before I decided to just get lazer treatments instead...I use to go the Christopher Jon salon in Sayville ask for Maira... I am not going to lie...it hurts but maira does it so quick that it isn't so bad. It just stinks because you have to grow a bush the first time you go so that the wax sticks. But so worth it!!!

Re: brazalian wax question

i did it for the wedding and its been 2 weeks now and wow! what a difference!

i went to maximus in merrick, it was $40 and much better than i expected

i had 2 tylenol and a glass of wine before and my sis/MOH held my hand, and it turned out my waxer got married at NRC 3 years ago and was telling me all about it

i expected it to be awful and it really wasnt that bad at all, i'd totally do it again

Beware if you have sensitive skin! (If you burn but do not tan or your skin reacts to things easily.) I had it done twice (2 different salons) and both times the wax took off patches off my skin down there. I spoke to my derma about this and she said that this is common for people with very sensitive skin.

I am going to go to Bliss and have a betweeny, which is a cross between a bikini and a brazillian. I highly recommend Bliss, I get waxes on occasion (I don't go a lot because I used to always have some horrible side effect) and they are by far the best place ever. The least painful and the quickest. It is definitely worth doing some kind of wax (FH will love it).

I used to get it done and I love love love the results ...but OMG the pain pain pain....I heard that after a while it hurts less and less each time you get it done....but not for me, each and everytime I got it done it hurt like h***!!! I even tried the cold wax method which is supposed to be less painful ...but no....still really hurt a lot. I must be a wimp also bc i dunno how it doesnt hurt some people......my gf gets the laser brazilian she said it hurts as well but you only get it done once every year or two depending on the person......this sounds much better to me..........

I think I may possibly be THE biggest fan---I would def. recommend it! No more itching when the hair grows back from shaving! And the hair grows in so much lighter and thinner! Just keep in mind that it hurts the most on the first time you'll get it done......it will never feel like that again. My waxer and I have gotten pretty close in the last uuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......8 yrs that i've been going?! I see an older woman in Long Beach, who I highly recommend! After my first time, which was painful I just couln't see going back to shaving! The longer you go the MUCH less painful it gets if you're willing to stick it out :)
Feel free to FM me i you'd like some more 'personal' info!
