its the best thing -- trust me, u'll feel FREEE. i go to http://www.shobhathreading.com/ they are well known in the city. they do sugar waxing which is less painful than the regular waxing. the best thing is THEY NEVER DOUBLE DIP! give them a try!

I'm going to have it done before the HM. I went to a Brazilian place and they did it the best job, so gentle and perfect.
The place is called Connections in Astoria.

it hurts the most the first time - if you continue to go it isnt as bad anymore - i guess maybe b/c you are more comfortable and know what to expect? unless somehow your body gets used to it? but that doesnt make sense to me since you go weeks apart - but in any case i remember the first time being the worst - it wasnt horrible but i was a little sore almost felt bruised for like a day or two after - and it was a little red a puffy for like a day - but that only happened the very first time.....i stopped going bc of saving for the wedding - but im going to go again before the wedding - and im nervous because its been so long!

eta: but you will love it, its worth it - so much nicer than shaving, smooth, lasts longer, you feel sexier down there afterwards

great post... how soon before the wedding should I go, like 1 week? A few days? I have off all week before so I can make plans :)

I LOVE IT.... I go to Elizabeth Arden in NYC...My lady is the best...Fresh GOOD wax (none of the wax on a dip stick) and she uses ice cubes which help ease the initial pain.

I am the biggest WIMP ever and after going for a while now I dont mind going at all.

Def do it...Your FH will love it!

I agree with OY poster. I go to Shobha and they're really clean and quick.

As for timing, keep in mind no one will see you if you have your period so you have to time it. Also, you're not supposed to be intimate with your partner for 48 hours afterwards.

It definitely hurts, but not in the places you think. I'm getting a Brazilian in a few weeks (going on a beach vacay with my FH) and I ask them to leave a little bit...hurts less and you get all of the benefits...
