So I'm really contemplating having a brazalian wax for the wedding..I'm just petrified! can anyone recommend any good places on li?? Preferrably near west islip or holtsville...and also how many days prior to the wedding should I go? and how badly does it hurt? does it leave any pimples or anything?

Re: Brazilian wax
love it- I am in nassau so I cant recommend anywhere near you but I'd go 2-3 days before the weddings..its not unbearable Ive been doing it for almost 2 years now. I think the results outweigh the pain by far!!!!!

i'd go NOW and then 2 days before the wedding.
i don't know any places in LI unfortunately. i would say don't go right before your period and if you're worried about pain take two advil or drink a glass of wine right before

well i think just to get used to it and just in case you have any sort of reaction; i wouldn't want to have any irritation right before my wedding/HM. then if you need to go again right before you can go for a touch up or even regular bikini wax. I think I used to go every two months, so it depends on your hair growth.
they also have wax for sensitive skin; you can ask about that also.

It hurts the most the first time, and I got little pimples the first time. . . it comes out much nicer after you have done it before.

it tends to be more sensitive/painful.

Re: Brazilian wax
I agree with Silvana, def go now first. The first time, for any waxing is always the most painful becuase the roots are so much thicker. When it grows back it will be finer and easier to pull. Also, you'll get to see if you do have a bad reaction or not, better to know now that right before the HM. Also, kristen, take 2 advil a half hour before you go, it will help.

Re: Brazilian wax
I am not going to lie....it really hurts!! especially the first time. You need to take 2 advil 30 minutes before. I highly recomend my girl in Seaford - Patti from Majestic Salon on Merrick Rd. She is super nice, makes you feel so comfortable and does a great job!

Re: Brazilian wax
I agree with everyone-
go now... and use a loofah in between to avoid any ingrown hairs. I prefer the rough ones-definitely help the best.
I go to MGM salon. on Old country Road. in I beleive Westbury its considered. Mary is her name and shes great.
Take an advil...adn if you are prone to have sinsitive skin mention that to the waxer.

Re: Brazilian wax
3 weeks or maybe 4? and it grows in much lighter. don't worry you'll be fine. i agree with the others, go now and then again 2 days before the wedding. it hurts, but is so worth it!!
