Original post by Mrs. V 2008

So I'm really contemplating having a brazalian wax for the wedding..I'm just petrified! can anyone recommend any good places on li?? Preferrably near west islip or holtsville...and also how many days prior to the wedding should I go? and how badly does it hurt? does it leave any pimples or anything?

It only stings temporarily, at the moment that they pull the strip off, it's really not that bad..you can take two tylenols beforehand if you want...the whole process is done in 10-15 minutes...it's worth the temporary sting!

You can go to any spa in Suffolk - may be better to goto the spa the first time - more tranquil setting - I am going the week before the wedding....afraid if I go now I will not go again....not because of pain ...more embarressed due to my size

Kristen,

I go to Eternal the Spa in Babylon Village.

My waxer is Dorey and she's great! I def. recommend her!

Take advil an hour beforehand and it should help ease the pain. I've found if they don't put any cream on afterwards it helps me not to break out.
HTH!

there is an awesome place in babylon called eternal the spa.. it is right next to Posh hair salon on main street. They do a great job! It's not that bad when they do it either

Hahaha, just got one today! I go to Unique Threading in NYC, I use sugar instead of wax because it only binds to the hair not the skin, so it actually hurts a lot less. It lasts like 5 weeks for me. I go every month now. totally worth it!

I want to get this too and I am veryyyyyy nervous. I may take something a little stronger than advil ... like prescription naproxen Which is aleve but stronger. A shot before I walk in would probably help, maybe I can find a salon next to a bar and go with a girlfriend

I have considered this too. Can I ask a stupid question? What's the difference between a regular and a full?

3 weeks or maybe 4? and it grows in much lighter. don't worry you'll be fine. i agree with the others, go now and then again 2 days before the wedding. it hurts, but is so worth it!!

I totally agree!
