Maybe you can look into the chain restaurants and separate a room for it. For example Olive Garden or the likes.
PS- that is really nice of you and your coworker to do that for her

Try a local pizzeria that has a back room I have found for a low key party, they can do the best with food, etc..

Bertuccis

A local chinese restaurant (you can order family style)

Donnovan's in Bayside

Do you know anyone who lives in a condo or a building with a community room you can use and cater wraps and salads.

Why not have it at someone's home?

That is really, really sweet! See if you can find a pizza/restaurant close by. Sometimes those are less expensive.

Sometimes you can find a place that has a brunch buffet and they have a private room you can help yourselves to the brunch buffet.

Thats a sweet idea! How about Sergios in Massapequa? I know their prices probably went up- but about 2 years ago I checked them out for a bridal shower and got a price for under $20 per head! It included soda and dessert too.

Try Umberto's of New Hyde Park on Jericho tpke. They have seperate room.

Also try King Umberto on hempstead tpke in franklin square or elmont.

I think Bertuccis on rt 110 has a seperate room.
