FH and I signed a contract for something (some wedding jewelery) and then found it for much cheaper....we want to get out of the deal and get back the $200 we put down...any advice?
Has anyone done this and what was the result?

if its special order you might lose your deposit or if it isnt just tell them you dont want the rings but maybe you can purchase something else for the deposit price maybe for the bridal party?

It is not somewhere we could get something else, but all we have done is made the first deposit...no work has been done...
Any other advice?

See if they'll match the price?
if not, maybe they cna give you a store credit and you can pass it on as a gift or at a cheaper rate to a BTB who hasn't bought her rings yet
