Breaking Youself from Caffeine

Breaking Youself from Caffeine

Have you done it?
Would you?
Do you think that you can't live without it?
Is it just not a problem for you?

I think giving up caffeine is harder than giving up smoking.
I speak from experience.
I'm 6 months and 1 week without smoking cold turkey.
I can't go 1 day without coffee.

I have tried to cut back on the diet coke. More because of the chemicals than that caffeine.

I just realized that my hands smell like coffee. Weird.

I love my caffeine. I stopped drinking coffee, tea and soda when I was pregnant and when I was nursing - I went 3.5 years with very limited caffeine.

I don't remember it bothering me. it was harder to not drink wine.

Then I went BACK to coffee after my youngest stopped nursing. And it was like 'HELLO OLD FRIEND!' I haven't looked back since. And I don't intend to ever leave my sweet habit again. Until I am pregnant.

A caffeine addiction is really hard to break. Medically proven fact. The withdrawal symptoms are pretty crummy.

I have done it though, and would do it again.

But not anytime soon.

Cause I don't wanna.

Re: Breaking Youself from Caffeine

I haven't had any tea or coffee today because Starbucks gave me regular nasty milk and I didn't realize it till I was about 5 miles away.

I feel withdrawalish.

Once I tried to give up all caffeine - soda, coffee, tea, but then I realized the ridiculous amount of happiness these things bring me and I gave up. Mmmm caffeine.

I'm on hour six.

are you a masochist?

why would you do this to yourself...especially since you can hardly eat anything you really enjoy anyway?

did you join Opus Dei or something?

I've never completely given up caffeine, tho I did give up soda one year for Lent. That was pretty tough, tho I got around it by drinking iced tea.

I don't drink coffee. I drink tea but not every morning so it's not something I NEED to function.

Growing up my mom used to buy Diet Cola Caffeine Free, so I would drink that and now the taste (or lack thereof) doesn't bother me, although I do prefer regular soda.

It's been hot chocolate bagel and cream cheese madness for me this week. Seriously - and I feel terrible for it. I look pretty awful, too.

So it's back to detox for a little bit.

I am a masochist.

caffeine and carb overload = heaven (and sometimes puffy face syndrom, but it is a small price to pay)

I love coffee, and always will. Even knocked up I let myself have a few cups a week. Decaf, as someone once put it, is like kissing your sister. Whatever that means.
