Breast Milk Storage Question

1. I have recently pumped milk stored in the refridgerator that I plan to use tomorrow. Can I take it out and let it get to room temp. or do I need to heat it?

2. If I let it get to room temp. how long can I keep it for?

Human milk can be stored at room temperature (66-72°F, 19-22°C) for up to 10 hours in a refrigerator (32-39°F, 0-4°C) for up to 8 days.

I heat the milk up in a mug of warm water and swirl (not shake) it until it gets warm. If there is left over from feeding I leave it out until the next feeding and offer it. If he doesnt take it then, I toss it.

Re: Breast Milk Storage Question

Molly would take milk cold, right from the frig. She never needed it heated. But you can use it room temp or warmed. DO NOT MICROWAVE the breastmilk. Just swirl it .
