Breast Reduction surgery - had appt. with surgeon

I met with a wonderful plastic surgeon this morning - Dr. Nolan Karp of NYU Medical Center. It seems I am not a candidate for the lesser-stitching surgery, and will have to go with the traditional surgery. I am on Weight Watchers and doing pretty well, so I think I will wait until next July or August to have it done.

For anyone who is thinking of having it done, I highly recommend him for a consultation.

Back in Texas my coworkers daughter had the reduction done.

I think it ended up like a half pound on each side or more. She said her back was killing her and she had problems sitting up and running before the surgery. She's so happy now.

I'd make sure you leave enough time before your wedding for a complete recovery- just in case there are complications. Not to be a downer, just a realist. I know someone that had the reverse (implants) and had some complications and was out of commission for almost 1 month- she still wasn't full strength for another 4-6 weeks.

Yes, this is something to be very careful about.

I had two friends that had this done, one with no complications, the other had a hard time. She wound up losing her n ipple. They had to do reconstructive surgery to fix it!

Though, in the end, they were both VERY happy with the results.

I had this surgery done about 6 years ago. It was the best thing I ever did, but it was about 8 weeks before I could even wear a real bra!
