bridal bouquet handle

Did anyone carry their bouquet with a handle? The florist we went to today mentioned that and I was like why would I do that? and then, when we got back, my FMIL was like you should look into that because it protects your hands and your dress from getting dirty. So, give me some feedback, ladies, and post a pic of this thing I've never heard of if you have one!

Re: bridal bouquet handle

I don't think I have seen this before, oh wait I did see pewter handles in a catalogue once. What I saw mostly when I went to the florists was the stems wrapped in ribbon.

No I didn't use one and neither my hand nor my dress got dirty.

It's called a tussy mussy, btw.

Re: bridal bouquet handle

we're going to use them- ours will be clear plastic. you can also get silver looking ones...
they keep the flowers fresher longer.

Re: bridal bouquet handle

Personally, I like hand-tied bouquets, and the ribbon will protect you from getting dirty.

Re: bridal bouquet handle

I've never seen a handle before - didn't even know it existed! I've only seen flowers wrapped in satin. But for my brother's wedding the flowers were leaking water at times (if turned upside down) - they used *** though so that may be why.

Re: bridal bouquet handle

Our bouquets were hand tied with floral tape to keep them together then finished off with satin ribbon to match our dresses. Never did our hands get dirty.

Re: bridal bouquet handle

I am having a cascading bouquet, which will be in a holder that won't be visible because the flowers drape over it.

My BMs are having silver holders (Tussie Mussies--but disposable).

I don't like the look of the stems showing or the satin wrap. It is a weird pet peeve of mine that I cannot explain. However, the stems showing is much more in style and what I am doing is a bit of a throwback (especially the cascade, but it is how I always pictured my wedding flowers).

I do not think that getting dirty is an issue at all, so do not let that sway your decision. Do what you like.

I'll soon have photos of mine. It's almost wedding time for me.

Re: bridal bouquet handle

We just used satin and we did not get dirty nor did our dresses. I personally do not like the look of a 'holder'.

Re: bridal bouquet handle

I was in a wedding and the BMs bo-ks were wrapped and may hands were sweating and the color of the ribbon was actually melting of of the ribbon.

When I got married I asked them to have handles, the regular 'old school' style bo-k, my florist wrapped the handle so you wouldnt see the plastic, but left the handle bare so the girlls wouldnt have to worry about getting dye on them if they sweated. They looked just as beautiful as teh 'wrapped bo-ks' most ladies get, and they were cheaper. JMHO

Re: bridal bouquet handle

I didnt. I liked the way it looked hand tied with the stems showing on the bottom. Nothing got dirty either.
