Bridal Boutiques

Which bridal shops does everyone like for mother of the bride dresses? Going shopping with my grandmother this weekend, and have no clue where we want to look.

my mom got her dress from Angel Bridal in East Islip. Rosemary and Vicki are great and their alterations lady rocks! My mom loves her dress. Their number is 581-3330. If your around that area, I would def check them out! Have fun shopping!

Thanks for the info. I heard some really bad things actually bout them. My FSIL went there for her wedding and was NOT please by the way they treated her and her bridesmaids. hmmm

wow I'm shocked. I had such a great experience with them. ANd believe me we were a pain lol. I had a lot of OOT BM's and my moms dress was a little snug and they gave her the sample and just swapped the dresses bc it was a size larger. They were completely accomandating. I am sorry to hear she had such a bad experience. Good luck though. You can always try Bridal Suite of Bay Shore. I have heard great things about them.

I've found with MOB dresses and the shops, first, I'm not a fan, wow some are funky looking, secondly it seems that suffolk county shops are cheaper than nassau county, just in my experience.

ie, en-toto great neck vs metamorphosis st. james & wedding center - commack, same dress wedding center cheapest followed by metamorphosis, followed by en-toto.

SAME exact dress - hundred or 2 hundred+ price difference between shops.

I'd probably recommend metamorphosis, the ladies were nice there, it's a bit of a mess inside but there's a selection, a bunch of moms and grandmothers in there making a big ole mess .

There's also macy's smithaven or manhasset I think?

I'm not recommending my mom's place, first because I didn't like the people there although it was cheap, secondly I didn't pick the dress, my mom did and is hard headed even though I warned her before we went in about its reputation with alterations and tacking things on like rush fees which they did for us as my mom ordered her dress past absolute last minute even though I warned her about fees. She didn't believe me! Well now she does. I didn't even want to go in the store, but she wanted to 'check it out', yea right.... I'm hoping everything turns out OK. I'm going to force her to have alterations elsewhere though. We are going to have words.

Thanks girls! Will let everyone know how it goes. Going on Sat with Grandma. She is funny tho. She is very pale and normally wears dark blues and blacks. I am trying to get her to wear something lighter since it will make her not as pale.
