I want to start looking for a gown for the wedding but I have no clue where to start. I'm not good at picking out a style that I like AND that will actually look decent on me. I live in Brooklyn and have heard that there are really good boutiques here but no specifics (name, location, etc). Have any of you shopped in Brooklyn for your dress??
I want to go to a place that is reasonably priced and that can help me pick out what will look good on me. Any info or advice on picking out the right dress would be really helpful...thanks!

i got my dress and my bm gowns from valentina and so far so good love it there really great selection and really wonderful people

I've been to a few places in Brooklyn. Lotus on Ave U and E 18th is reasonably priced. Monica's Bridal is a little higher for the same stuff and people are very rude (don't recommend it). I bought mine at Artemedia (Sheepshead Bay and E 14th), its a little more upscale as far as service and quality, but the woman is really great and she will work with you until you're happy. She didn't rush me told me to come back think it over and she was honest about which dresses suit my body and which didn't.
Definitely Artemedia - Natasha, the owner, is fantastic! That's where I bought my dress - on the first day of looking for the dress. I agree - Monica's bridal is so rude!

Maid to Order was TERRRIBLE! The service was fine when we ordered, but then they wouldn't pick up the phone for a month and we didn't get the bridesmaids dresses until just 1 week before the wedding! We were so stressed because we left so many messages to find out what happened and when the dresses would be available. The voice mail machine was too full, but the store would not call back. We had to finally go to teh store and complain, and call the dress manufacturer and file a complaint. It was so messy!!!!!
