Bridal Building - 1385 Broadway * Go Early
And dont 'sign in'. I think the Sat I went we got there around 10:30, which was fine. By about 1:00 everyplace was a mad house. There are actually 2 buildings 1385 and another one near by. dont remember the address, but you will hear about it when you get to 1385. I didnt purchase there (came close at Paula Varsalona) but it was worth the trip. I my go back with my bridesmaids. Good Luck

But I Thought
I thought that prestige weddings was at that address. Thats what they told me over the phone, when they made an appointment with me. I told them I didnt want to go into the city thats when they told me they had another place in Floral park. So, is it a wedding center or a place to get dresses?

But I Thought
It is a wedding center, it just happens to be in the lobby of the bridal building. Yes, they did call me too. I won a trip to Florida or Vegas, can't even remember. We did go, I personally did not like them whats soever, I felt like I was buying a car and was being attacked by all the car dealers. They were just to slick. What they offer is okay, nothing extrodinary, but I would suggest not going if you are easily convinced. I remember that at the time I went I had just got engaged, I still had 1 year and a half of planning and they were actually my first preview into the bridal industry, but I am glad I had enough sense to just say no thanks.

But I Thought - Thats why I said Dont Sign In (long)
There is some organization in the lobby that you should just bypass - they try to make it sound like you must sign in with them but you dont have to. If dont want the hassel just give an alias. The building has various manufacturers: Paula Varsolona, Eve of Milady, Bill Lefkoff to name a few and a lot of little 'bridal shops'. You dont know who will be open on any given Sat. The day I went Paula Varsolona was open and Paula was there. Eve of Milady was closed. Some of the bridal shops were zoos, some were fine. Some carried names you see in all the mags. St.Patrick, Jasmine etc. Good Luck and Happy Hunting

Re: A question for Fran
I think so - But you really have to know what style or better yet dress you want before going. There was a wide price and quality range from store to store. I remember one bride saying she was saving over $500 on her St. Patrick gown. Paula Varsolona had was Much better priced (but still expensive) in her showroom compared to her store (very expensive). All in all, I felt it was worth a Sat. But then I only have a 20 min ride on the LIRR. Good Luck let us know what you find.Welcome New Vendors
