Hi All - this is a Mom posting. My daughter fell in love with a Daniel Thompson dress at Bridal Couture in Manhasset. We are very hesitant to buy the dress there because of all the terrible reviews and problems posted here, on Google and the number of complaints with the Better Business Bureau. The shop is telling us that they are under new management and that we will have a wonderful experience with them. The last horrible complaint I can find for them was in 2004. Does anyone have any recent experiences with them that they can share? Is the shop really under new management and for how long? Do you have any suggestions to ensure that we don't have problems with them? Thanks so much for your help.

To be completely honest, I found a gown there that I loved and although they were very helpful I did find that they were overpriced. You can find the same gown cheaper somewhere else, you just have to be willing and patient.

I bought my dress from BC in 2005. It was a sample dress that fit me. I didn't need to wait for the dress to come in or get much work done on it. So my experiance was pleasant...HOWEVER. I told a friend of mine to go there because of their unique selection. She found her dress for her 2008 wedding and it all went down hill from there. - dress came in only 2 months before her wedding -it was the wrong style, she wanted a deep V neckline-they ordered it as a straight across strapless. - BC said they would send it back to the designer and have the whole top remade, all they did was alter it themselves. You could see where the cut and added material was made. -Final alterations weren't finished till the day before the wedding - still not what the bride wanted.
After all the money and time spent, she wore a dress she was so upset about on her wedding day. To make it worse, you can see the crease where the added material was added in her photos.
Even though I had an okay experiance there, I would not sugguest anyone purchasing their wedding gown at this shop. They were not willing to make the situation better. The employees just upset my friend more by saying there was 'nothing they could do'.
