I have been to Lillettes in Baldwin and The Wedding Center in Commack. Lillettes didn't have as many dresses as the other one, but they were so kind and helpful. The Wedding Center had a TON of dresses in all different styles and price ranges. I went to both places during the week which I think made a difference. You need an appointment at Lillettes, but not the Wedding Center. Good luck in your search!!

Bridal Reflections in Carle Place was the first place I went to and I HATED it; I couldn't wait to leave!!
So far I've been to The Wedding Plaza in Floral Park and Macy's Manhasset (Macy's only carries Demetrios) and had much better experiences at those two places.
Next on my list is Valentina's in Brooklyn and Bridal Garden in Bethpage.

My sister in law got her wedding dress there back in 2001 and she loved them and my MIL still raves about them.

I bought my dress at Priscilla of Boston also and I loved them. The dresses I saw were all in the $3000-$4000 range. I think they go up from there, not sure if there are any that are less.

i had nice shopping experiences at both centereach bridal suite and fantasia brial in rocky point. in the end, centereach gave me a better price for my dress.

Re: bridal dress

i heard from a friend that Davids Bridal is a good place to start b/c they have dresses in all different sizes...and she said that they dont really bother you much there. which i like the idea of b/c i personally dont like being pressured.

Re: bridal dress

The first place I went was Iman, but because I didn't know what I wanted the ladies just sat around chatting with each other and let me wander. Not much help. Iman's the best to go to when you have a clearer idea because Iman is a dress-maker and she can take the skirt from this and mix it with the top from that, etc. I'd suggest that, wherever you go, BRING PICTURES. Even if you don't end up liking that style on you, the shop ladies seem to want you to have a direction. I got my dress at Manahsset Macy*s. They were ok but the lady got annoyed with me when I was making strangers in the store take a poll on which dress they liked most.

Oh and beware of Princess Bridal in Farmingdale. The woman helping me was SO ANNOYING. It's a mess inside, the dresses are all squashed into one room and the assistant just whined the whole time that the gowns I selected were 'too heavy' and were making her arms hurt. She kept saying, 'that one's like 40 pounds so I'll bring it to you only if you're sure you like it...'
