Bridal Expo

Is anyone going to the Great Bridal Expo this Saturday the 22nd? Is it worth checking into? It's at the Marriott in Uniondale. Just wondering

Re: Bridal Expo

I'm going with one of my BM. I got two free tickets in the mail & decided to check it out. I've been to one before. The are okay. Some people can be very pushy & if you give out your phone #, anticipate NUMEROUS calls. Many people will call to tell you all the 'prizes' you won.
I have a lot of my big wendors booked but still want to check it out anyway!

I'm going and dragging my fiance. I've been to small ones with my friends but my fh usually has to work so I'm happy that he's coming along. I heard the big expos can be overwhelming.

I printed out the tickets, but I'm not sure if we are going.... FH is getting sick of wedding related stuff. He said this past weekend we never do anything he wants to do. (like look at cars) hmmmm...

Thanks for the hookup! I tried it though and still haven't received an e-mail? Has anyone else tried it? How long does it normally take?

There was a pop-up once you entered your info you could print out for your ticket. If your browser is blocking pop-ups you can't see it.

Should I try again or will it void my tickets?

Re: Bridal Expo

I went last year and it was really good. There are a lot of vendors and the fashion show is really high qualityadn well produced and there are a lot of great pizes (it's MUCH better than the metro bridal expo I mistakenly went to on the 9th) I'll be there! Look for me!

Re: Bridal Expo

FYI good advice from a married friend, print up labels with your name and address, no phone #, this way you dont get writers cramp filling out the forms.

Re: Bridal Expo

YEP! I do that for every show. last year at te great bridal expo though they had these slips of apper that for $6 you could print out and that's how you entered most of the contests

It's at the Marriot in uniondale (by nassau Coliseum. Basically they have about 80-100 different local and national vendors, gowns, photo, video, DJ, bands, you name it. And you go around to the different booths and you cna get information pakcets and talk for a few minutes with the vendors. You can book appointments and often they will give you special deals (which may or may not be special) for booking an appointment on the spot. (I'd NEVER take any deal for booking the vendor for the wedding on the spot though, that's shady). Usually each booth has contest you cna enter for a drawing at the end. There is also a really great fashion show of gowns, honeymoon wear, tuxes, BM gowns, etc. The contests are for a free honeymoon, a free video package, etc. Just about every booth has a contest. The only downside, if you count this as a downside is that you will get a lof of mail and phone calls. I really didn't find this to be a problem though. i just kept my machine on and called back the people I wanted to, Most people didn't call back more than once! it's also a good way to put you in touch with vendors and a good way to kickstart the process. Also, you cna get the altest bridal magazines for free, and some vendors give away smapols or other stuff, sample favors, florists sometimes break down their displays at the end and give out the flowers, so it's fun. it helps you because seeing a list of vendors on a aphge and trying to figure out who to book cna be really difficult, but meeting with them you get to see some aspect of their personality and ask a few questions so it really helps. It can be overwhelming, but I'm excited to go this weekend. i went last year, but we wreally weren;t ready to plan, so this year it should be really fun!
