Bridal Expo Rant

So I got a call yesterday inviting me to the bridal expo at Douglaston Manor. I was considering going because I live super close, but then they told me it would be $10 at the door!!!!!

Seriously!?!? every other one I have been to has been free. I can't believe they are charging for something that everyone else gives away. I hope they aren't charging the brides that actually booked there.

Sorry for the rant it just pissed me off.

i never go to the ones that charge! PULEASE isnt this supposed to be promos for them!

didn't even realize there were free ones lol i only went to one and paid $10 for 6 ppl - i thought i got a deal haa

I agree as well. You shouldn't have to pay to go to a bridal show!

when is the LIW one?? I have to go look taht one up! I have heard they are great! by the time that one comes around all I will probably need is flowers! lol

I have paid for one so far. A lot of them dont charge the brides that are booked there.

I went to one at Douglaston Manor 2 years ago & it was free; i think they're charging now because they're pretty much have a full tasting. When i went before there was passed appetizers during the showcase and then a FULL buffet and i mean 15+ stations of food Then they had hot dogs; poprcorn carts; cotton candy makers. and when the desert openend it was again 15+ cakes & desserts to choose from. PLUS open bar...I guess they realized w/all the food they were offering they needed to start to charge. Typically the ones that are free are just the showcases to meet w/vendors; see florists, dj's; stationary etc.

I'm planning on going tonight even though it's $10-it my opinion it was worth it

I also wanted to add-when i went before there were a TON of DM brides there doing their tastings; writing what foods they liked/didn't like. If you're a Douglaston Manor bride; maybe call and see if you have to pay to attend the showcase as well.

I went to the free ones too and what happened was RANDOM people would be there....like families with their kids just trying to get FREE food. So I think its better that they charge b/c Douglaston doesn't just showcase the vendors....they have a full buffet, anti pasta station, passed food, 3 CAKES!, drinks, so for $10 its def worth it.
