Re: Bridal Expos???
It might definatly be fun for them! I on the other hand become annoyed - it's like a wedding flea market to me! Although, you get a lot of free mags, brochures, etc.. It's just overwhelming a lot of the vendors stop you as you walk by, etc.Where is it? Maybe yours will be better! I've been to two and two was just enough! This is only my opinion! Have fun!

Re: Bridal Expos???
I am going to that one also. I went to one sponsored by the same people a couple of months ago and you are definately hassled a bit by all of the vendors but we need to find a DJ and they sometimes put on shows for you so that is why my FH agreed to go!

Re: Bridal Expos???
I went to the one last April that Liweddings hosted. I enjoyed it and no one was pushy. It was fun. I got a lot of ideas and got to meet alot of vendors I am looking into using. I am waiting for them to do another one.

Re: Bridal Expos???
How often does LI Weddings do showcases? I figure that would be a good one to go to because they will not be biased to certain vendors like some reception halls are.

Re: Bridal Expos???
Your absolutely right! I did not think about that. I think when your a house vendor you have to give a % to the catering hall and you are required to do the shows. I will wait for the next LIWeddings show. They have a lot of vendors and they are all people we are familiar with because they are from the site.

Re: Bridal Expos???
If you're going to go to them take my advice but please don't give out any personal info as far as phone numbers etc. , unless you really want to hear from them, because I went to one almost a year ago and it started like a snowball effect of people harassing me at home. There were nights where I would get between 10and 15 calls a night!!!However, they are fun and it's good to be able to see a variety of vendors.
Good luck!

Re: Bridal Expos???
I use to love the Bridal Expo jsut to pick up magazine and look at all the vendors. They only thing that I hated were all the calls I received from so many places trying to get me to book. I got so annoyed that I disconnected my phone at home and just used my cell.Advice...try to keep your number limited. Only give the number to the vendors that you are interested in.

Re: Bridal Expos???
I haven't been to one yet, but I agree- Don't give out your phone number unless you want vendors calling you 24/7.

Re: Bridal Expos???
BEWARE after you go to one, you will 'WIN' all kinds of things...most of them have a catch. After I went to one, I 'won' three things that would end up costing me money if I had done them.

Re: Bridal Expos???
Well, I am new to this whole thing so I am def going to be going to some of the expos. I will be going to the one on the 10th at the Hilton, I just saw it advertised again in the Pennysaver, and I see it in all the bridal mags.....Im sure it will give me some good ideas, so I think it will be worth the 5 dollars.

Re: Bridal Expos???
I paid $12 to go to on sponsored by Bridal Guide in the city. I didn't get any ideas-- most of the vendors were china and appliance manufacturers-there were a couple of photographers and favor people. I did not get one idea from the expo but I have since received about 10 pieces of mail a day from every wedding related vendor possible. I would definitely not pay even $5 to go to one.Welcome New Vendors
