Bridal Gown Dress Shopping... The Search begins

So WHO should I be taking gown shopping with me???

I already figured the 2 people who's fashion sense I trust most, which includes my MOH and best friend.

Now should I be taking my mother, his mother, my other bridesmaids, my sister, his sister, etc... Like, should I be including them or feel obliged to include them in the process?

I found that less is more. I just had my mother and MOH with me for most of the process, depending on where you are going, a lot of the bridal salons are small and you need someone your comfortable with to help you put the gowns on and off. My FH was annoyed that I didn't include my FMIL but I am a plus size bride and wasn't comfortable putting on dresses that didn't close up, zip or fit correctly in front of her. I told her I would take her with me for my fitting...

I only went with my mom and my sister... after I picked my dress I went back with my FMIL to show her

I only took my mom and sister (who is my MOH) to all of my appointments. I plan on asking FMIL if she'd like to come to either the first or last alterations appointment.

You can pick whoever you want. I wouldn't bring a thousand people though LOL I had my cousin, & 2 bm's come with me since my mom lives outside the country.

I only took my mom and it was a great experience! When I went back for Bridesmaid dresses.. Then FMIL, and my bridal party were there along with my mom and I tried on my dress for them to see how it would look with the BM dresses we liked.

Yeah! I do recal you saying you were the groom, I even thought it was great that you were so involved being the groom now you are saying you're the bride and asking should you bring HIS mom with you dress shopping? So confused!

I would include your mom. I know mine would have been really hurt if I went with my friends and didn't go with her. His mom, you don't have to, but I'd definitely take yours.

While I ended up finding and buying The Dress when I was by myself (didn't know I'd find it that day), my plan was to bring my mom to appointments and only when I had it narrowed down to a few would I bring his mom and my MOH.

I, FH, promise to have used LIweddings 99.99% of the time. The OP original post was in fact the FW though (elaboration to come... Next time on Brides'Grooms Wars). We're pretty open about things, I told her about and read to her those BM related posts from back then.

Here's the quick version:

I felt wayyy to 'zilla to even post about this (though I did mention I would/should to her), so I guess she did... Now that the cat's out the bag, here I go <-I thought that was a backflip?! It's faint, yes I tend to be ADD haha? ...

Back to realityyy... She planned day 2 of Gown shopping yesterday.... She decided on taking a few extra (Non-Bridal Party) people.... I suggested taking my sister.

Why you say?
1. We both have tight-knit families, so we're trying to make everyone feel included whenever we can.
2. She's taking extra (Non-Bridal Party) people this time anyways.
3. My sister leaves for school Sunday, so she'll be long gone in a week anyways. This would be a one time thing.
4. I'll admit my sister has 'obscure' tastes in life & fashion, but she isn't going to tell FW to pick something FW doesn't like.

P.S.: Women have such great memory and keen eyes! (not just for brownie points, it's true. Hard to keep anything from you's)

Tell her...or let her read this...? Idk she/you should take who ever she/you is/are comfortable with going and whoever she/you thinks would be a good supporter of your/her decision!

Seriously?! One word, troll. And 'dude' you need to cut the cord and let your FW have whoever she wants in her bridal party & bring whoever she wants dress shopping. It's nice to have a FH involved but you seriously are Wayy to controlling. Nice 'save' by the way.
