Bridal Gown Shopping
I finally went shopping yesterday for my gown. I put it off for a while because I'm heavier than I'd like to be and wasn't sure if the dresses would look good on me. But the wedding seems to be quickly approaching and everyone was saying I have to get a move on it....so I gathered up some courage and went with my 2 younger sisters and mom.
We went to Davids Bridal in Carle Place first, we were the first appointment, as the store opened.....walked in to see quite a few employees around but absolutely no one came up to us to see if we needed help. So I walked up to a counter and finally got some 'service', if you can call it that. The consultant wasn't very friendly.....they didn't ask what kind of dress I was thinking about, just wanted me to look through a book and tell her what I liked....and that's all she brought out. I felt she was rushing us quite a bit, and didn't give me the privacy I asked for when changing into the slip and bra!
Anyway, I didn't want to buy a gown from there because I didn't like their service at all, besides, I didn't love any of the dresses I tried on.
My second appointment of the day was at the Wedding Plaza in Floral Park. Carmela was really nice, gave me the privacy I needed, but was still helpful. It was a bit cramped with 2 brides and a MOH trying on dresses. But Carmela was able to bring out dresses that fit with the style I was looking for, based on a few dresses I had picked out. There were 2 dresses that I really liked....I liked 1 more than the other, but my sisters and mom liked the 2nd one more. I'm sure I want 1 of the 2 so I already gave in a deposit! Now I just have to pick one
It was fun trying on so many beautiful dresses, part of me wishes I hadn't found the dress so quickly so I could do it some more, hehe.
