Valentina's. I love them. They are so wonderful and they offer free items and discounts to all brides and BMs.

Re: Bridal Gown Shops
Definatly Valentina's.
Dolores my sales girl I think is an angel. I went in 3 times before even leaving a deposit to try on the gown and each time she has helped me with a great big smile. No matter how much time has passed whenever she sees me she gives me a hug, asks how I am, how my plans are going, etc..
They really take the time to be with you and make you feel like a princess. You feel like you are the only bride in the world.
I got a free headpiece, viel and slip. They really want to make you feel like you own the world.

Re: Bridal Gown Shops
Kleinfeld's is the biggest bridal gown salon in the world, and their dresses and seamstresses are amazing. Definitely go there.

Re: Bridal Gown Shops
Thanks
I know Kleinfeld's but their reputation doesn't seem to be too good (I've heard they are a bit snobby).
I've never heard of Valentina's.. I am assuming that I will need an appointment to see them.. am I assuming right?
Thanks for your help girls

Re: Bridal Gown Shops
you should make an appointment.
When I got measured I didnt make one and had no problems. But to try on gowns I would make an appointment just to make sure their isnt a bunch of other brides there or girls getting fittings done.
They are really great there too. They'll ask what your budget is and help you out in any way they can.

Re: Bridal Gown Shops
Kleinfeld is known as snobby because of the people they cater too...the 2K plus buyers. Just take recommendations on who to see from people on this board that have used them and you'll be fine. They are fantastic. And you won't have a worry in the world if you buy there. Never a doubt that you'll have your gown, a fantastic seamstress, and royal treatment from beginning to end...
Valentina is very good too, but you have to keep on top of them..the delays after the gowns are in and you are trying to finish up fittings have been becoming more and more frequent. I dealt with it with my bridesmaids dresses, as well as three of my friends who dealt with it with their custom bridal gown orders. They are a small staff, and the volume of orders is beginning to pile up on them. No doubt you'll have a beautiful gown and you'll have it on your wedding day, but just keep on top of them, and the timeline they give you...and push push push!

Re: Bridal Gown Shops
I have literally walked out of Kleinfields while there for a dress fitting...but I have friends that swear by the place.
I'm buying my BM dresses from Valentina's and have been VERY happy so far.
I live in Brooklyn and 9 out of 10 people have recommended them to me.
You should go to both places and see for yourself either way.

Thanks everyone.. I will definitely check out both places and decide for myself since everyone has a different opinion. Any other places in Brooklyn that any of you would recommend??

Re: Bridal Gown Shops
Another vote for Valentina's! I am getting my gown custom made from them and just went with my BM's (all of them!!) on Saturday to pick out the BM dresses. Everyone there is so nice, and the girls dresses were really reasonable after all the discounts - only $166 per dress including tax and free alterations!

Re: Bridal Gown Shops
My dress is customed as well and the guy Jay who is the owner and designer is an angel. I told him how much I love his design but wanted to make my train longer and he said with a huge smile on his face not a problem. He explained to me the material, how long it takes him to make dresses, where he gets his material from and everything. I felt like he was dropping everything just to be with me and to make me happy. My sales girl Dolores i love so much. She has been such a doll from day one. I look foward to going back in January just to see everyone.
Definatly check them out.

Re: Bridal Gown Shops
Hey Susan!
I too ordered my bm's dresses from Valentina's...they were so great to work with.
I did not look at bridal gowns there because I had already found my dress.
I've been to Lestan's but that place just seems to be a mess to me...however they have the hugest selection of dresses I've seen ANYWHERE!
I'd also recommend Maid To Order on 86th St. They were really nice in there too and had beautiful dresses...most were a little pricey though...but still check them out.
One word of advice...stay away from Kelly's Creations on 18th Ave...FM me if you want more info.
Good Luck in your search!!!
