bridal jewelry

Hello-just wondering what kind of jewelry everyone is getting to go with the bridal gown...costume jewelry? sterling with CZ or crystal? I have a gown with a modified sweetheart neckline, I think I should wear a 'y' necklace or one with a drop, but other people say no.....I have been browsing the Maggie website and a lot of the necklaces do have drops.....just need some input...thanks

Mine will be the rhinestone earrings and necklace with a drop. I'm borrowing that from my mom as 'something borrowed.'

Re: bridal jewelry

i think a regular neckace (not y-shaped) would look pretty.

I got a pretty set from parkavedesigns.com, for $18. its crystal i think. if i had won that 220 mill. mega-millions, tho, it would be diamonds lol!!

you should find cheaper necklaces in the style you like and bring them to your fitting - or try them on with your dress' sample. that may help? you can always return them later...

Good luck!

Re: bridal jewelry

My dress is a modified sweetheart neckline too and I'm wearing chandelier earrings - no necklace or bracelet.

ETA: emitations has some pretty pieces.

Re: bridal jewelry

I have some jewelry from Swarovsky - the lady there was extremely helpful, and I was able to choose easily.

Re: bridal jewelry

I'm wearing a costume-y type CZ necklace, but it certainly depends on the dress.

Chris&james suggested this website:
wedding sparkles.com

It has alot of nice stuff, not bad prices.

Re: bridal jewelry

I personally like for myself if I was wearing a sweetheart neckline is a necklace with a bit of a drop, but not a Y necklace. But you should try some on and see.

I personally like CZ or Diamonique (found on QVC.com site) or crystals - I don't want to spend a ton of money on the jewelry myself since I won't wear it that often but I don't want to get anything cheesy looking too. ONe thing about ebay, I bought something that looks nice but when I got it, it was not good quality. So beware.

Someone on here (steffie sunshine1 I think?) and others suggested emitations.com and I like that alot.

But FH just informed me last night of a big jewelry sale tomorrow for 4 days at Macy's so he is going there tomorrow to get me something!!!!!
This is unexpected but who am I to say no? So you might want to check that out too.

Re: bridal jewelry

My parents bought me a diamond necklace as an early wedding present so they want me to wear that.
I don't think I am wearing much jewelry otherwise.

Re: bridal jewelry

OHHHH robeymuse I'm sure that will be gorgeous!!!

I have two diamond necklaces I got as graduation gifts - but they aren't right for my dress - My dress has Swarovsky (sp?) crystals in it - and mom and I were looking at a necklace the other day at Swarovsky - which I am 99% sure I will buy.

Re: bridal jewelry

thanks Christine. It is nothing huge,
it is actually kind of antique looking but really unique...completely 'me'.
I thought about wearing earrings but the top of my dress has so much detail...I am going mimimal on the jewelry.

Re: bridal jewelry

For my 'something borrowed', I'm in the process of trying to convince my mom to let me wear her diamond earring.

Besides that, I haven't put much thought into it.
