I just need an opinion. I am having a huge bridal party. I am the youngest daughter out of 3, so my other sisters both have either 2 or 4 kids. Then, my fiance's sister, whos also in the wedding, has two daughters. Then, on top of them, I have my 3 closest friends, and I had my fiance pick around the same amount of people just to balance it off. Well, I got a group photo at my engagement party, and his family was giving alot of 'looks'. Should I try to make it smaller, or just continue on with the large size? I cannot exclude my neices or his, nor my sister or his...but maybe knocking 2 adults off each side may help. Any opinions? There is a total of 24 people...but most of them are kids, under the age of 10....?? Also, two people that are in the party are having a baby any day now, and finaces are tight..? How can I go about telling them that if they can't afford it, then it's ok...? The dress is about 180, and the tux rental would be about 80...is that too steep? Please help...

Re: Bridal Party
I think the prices of dress and tux are fine and I would assume people might back out or tell you if they cannot afford somehting.
As long as everyone who is in BP wants to be in it- it doe snto matter how big they are. if you want to cut then that is a different story. Maybe for the under 10 children only use one or two for Jr bridesmaid and one or two for RB and FG.
But if all close to you and all want to be in it- why not

i dont think ur dress and tux prices are steep at all. very reasonable. If YOU WANT all 24 in your bridal then GO FOR IT. this is YOUR (and FH's lol) day! If you feel it will be a financial burden on anyone give them the option of opting out of the wedding but if everyone is down for it then who cares about the STARES. This is the one time YOU and FH are in control!

I agree with you!! It's your wedding and if you want all those people in your BP then go for it. And if you feel like it might be a burden for those people financially, then talk to them. But don't worry about the stares- it's all about you and your FH

Re: Bridal Party
I have about the same amount in my bridal party. if these are the people you truly feel close with and want them in it who cares what everyone else thinks. Also those prices for the dresses and tuxes are not steep at all. I would just ask the bridal party if they have problem with the amount so they can make the decision not to be in the bridal party now., not later.

Re: Bridal Party
I would leave it out there about the cost and if people cannot truly afford it - they will hopefully tell you - if you feel that you need to cut back - i would - its your wedding - you can do it your way and hopefully make other special parts of the wedding for them to help out during - passing programs, special cousins dance for the kids, etc...
