When is a good time to ask people to be in the wedding party? I want to do something special to ask my girls, does anyone have any cute ideas? Thanks, KIM

I know that there are some cute 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' cookies that you can buy. A lot of times they are shaped like a dress and have the text written on the cookie. Another idea is to get one of those 'Bridesmaid guide' books and give it to them as a gift and when they open it up you can ask them to be your bridesmaid.

I haven't fully decided who I'm asking yet and also, since I'm more than 2 years away from the wedding, I was thinking about waiting til next summer maybe (like a year and a half away?). Sicne you're in March, if you already know who you want to ask, I think you can ask whenever you're ready!
I was thinking about sending the girls a card with a box of Godiva chocolates or something...they all live in different areas and none of them live near me, so I was just going to mail it to them bc its so hard to get everyone together. I saved this thread bc it has some really cute poems on here.
We already chosen the bridal party. I would like to have one more person but FI thinks it's getting too big. I'll see if I can sway him in the coming months.

Good Luck. If the girls are important to you then they all should be in the party. I am following my own rules with my wedding!

I waited like 6 months to ask my girls. I went to AC Moore and bought a pack of will you be cards for like $ 5 bucks. I then did a search for will you be poems wrote one in each card and mailed them out. Everyone loved them my one couins is actually keeping it. But just be 100% positive you feel those who you pick will be there for you a good portion of the time. Good Luck!

I got super cute cards from Etsy personalized with their names on it. I also got my flower girl and ring bearer card from there.
I was originally going to mail it to them, but now I'm wondering if I should just give it to them in person.

I think i'm going to ask the rest of my bridal party around the holidays, I already have my 2 MOHs and BM so I think i will ask them around christmas when most of the people I want to ask to be in the wedding will be all together.

I asked my girls right away.
They weren't surprised - I've been in some of their bridal parties ...and we've always said we'd be each others bridesmaids.. so no surprise there.
I was actually kinda disappointed I didn't get to surprise anyone but my one cousin and one of the groomsman.

You should definitely wait to ask your girls to be your BM's because people can change overnight..trust me on that one.

since you still have a while to go, i would suggest waiting a bit to ask anyone...
i asked my girls super far in advance, regretted it, kicked 2 out, and lost 2 friends.
