Wow, that's a tough call, maybe you should explain to your MOH that you don't want to make your BP feel uncomfortable b/c (if they are) of money issues. The cost to be in someones wedding is alot for some....

Re: Bridal Party & Bachelorette Party....
For a bachelorette party I would not insist or want anyone to contribute if they were not going to be there. I see this as more of a night out, partying have fun thing, not a 'requirement', but that is JMO.

I agree - 2 of my 4 BM's were my 16 and 14 year old sisters who could not attend my bachlorette party for obvious reasons! Even if they were of age, I wouldn't think it right that they contribute if they couldn't go for whatever reason.

I think the two that cannot attend, should not be asked to contribute. JMO.

I do not think that they should be asked to contribute. If this was the bridal shower then I would say ok, if your MOH really wanted to ask them for money. I will have 2 of my bm's that won;t be able to attend because of their age and I wouldn't expect them or anyone else to contribute if they were not attending. JMO

Re: Bridal Party & Bachelorette Party....
tough call but we are in a similar situation with my BP...2 out of 5 can't make it & I don't expect them to contribute at all! Plans needs to be made in accordance to $$ with them counted out...Unfortunately it is not the best situation but like you said, some can't afford to do what others can!!!
The person I am, I could NEVER ask someone to contribute money to something they are not going to be apart of!!!

Re: Bridal Party & Bachelorette Party....
I dont think you should ask them to contribute to the BP, I dont even think its a requirement especailly if htey arent going to be there.
I feel the BMs should help out with the shower, but now a days it seems lile thats not even the case. My sister is the one paying for me to go away for my Bachelorette party. And I think its just going to be her and my MOH who pay for the shower - its stinks but I dont like to dictate what ppl should pay for.

Honestly - I don't think a bp should have to contribute for the bachlorette party if they are not attending it.

I agree - I'm a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding and I can't go to the shower or bach party and I paid my share for the shower and gift, but I have not been asked for any $$ for the bach party. I might send along $20 or $30 to buy the bride drinks, but I wouldn't want to be asked for money.

If people can't attend something they should not be asked to contribute towards it.

Re: Bridal Party & Bachelorette Party....
IMO if you don't attend the Bachelorette Party then you shouldn't be forced to contribute. If it was the shower we were talking about then it would be a different story

Re: Bridal Party & Bachelorette Party....
Ooo.....tough one, but if we are being honest....I would never ask members of the bp to contribute if they couldn't come. Like you said, it could be b/c they can't afford it. Just being in a wedding alone is expensive so I would understand if they couldn't come or contribute.
