Bridal party help!!!!

Hello!

This may sound a bit confusing so don't hesitate if you need further clarification.

Okay, so we are almost two months into our engagement and we haven't even asked our bridal party yet! I have who I want and he has who he wants and we just purchased the gifts. I am need of suggestions because I am one of 7, I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers. I have 3 out of 4 sisters in my party (I have no relationship with the one not in it) and my one older brother who I am extremely close with I want in my party. My older brother is getting married in October and I am in his wedding party (he is gay so it isn't a traditional wedding anyways). I want him in my wedding party but FH keeps asking how we would introduce him at the actual reception so why doesn't he just be in his. To me, it is silly to be thinking that far in advance but he is right, but I still want him in my party. Any suggestions on how to introduce him at the wedding? And am I really in the wrong for not including my two siblings. I do not want a big wedding party and I couldn't not include my two best friends. So we settled on 6 people. I am going to hate to hurt feelings, but I know there will be feelings hurt along the way anyways that is out of my control.

Sorry if this is a babble! I am just need of help and have a lot of thinking to do!!

There are plenty of men who are 'brides-men' as opposed to 'bridesmaids' I wouldn't be worried about it. If you want him in YOUR party and not FH's then have him in yours! He'll just be introduced at the wedding as the brother of the bride. I'm sure once you book a DJ, they'll have done something like that before and will have suggestions. I wouldn't get hung up on a technicality.

ETA - I'm one of seven also. I'm only having ONE of my sisters and none of my brothers in the wedding party. It was a lot of drama and I'm sure there are hurt feelings. You can't please everyone.

My sister had a 'Man of honor' instead of a maid of honor. And I agree, he can definitely just be a bridesmen

Exactly. My FW has been in two weddings and one this past weekend on her best girlfriends side. They introduce them as 'Tiffany and whoever' or she was the 'best woman' In another wedding or 'brides sister'. You can make it whatever you want and it's not weird at all. I'm having my best friend in my wedding and he will be introduced as his name. But he will NOT be standing on the side with all the guys! He is mine!!!! :)))))

My FH best friend is a girl and she will be standing up for him as his best woman. She is wearing the bridesmaid dress (in black though so she is not confused as a bridesmaid) When she is introduced she will walk in with my maid and matron of honor. It will be a girl fest :) And she will be introduced as the Best Woman. Do what feels right. I love non traditional. If he is on your side, maybe have him wear a different bouteinerre (I can never spell that word!) or maybe a different tie/bowtie.

I love that idea! Keep him on your side! My cousin was a 'groomswoman' in her wife's brothers wedding and it was fine. She actually walked in with her wife for the reception and down the aisle since her wife was a bridesmaid.

Yeah, keep him as yours!

I have two 'bridesmen' on my side, and FH has two 'groomswomen' on his. We could swap it out, but why. I don't want my brother and best friend standing my him! They're mine - they stay on my side! He feels the same way about his sisters.

I had a MAN of honor, and a Maid of honor...and the reception they both walked in together, at the church they walked together and they were both by my side, and his vest color matched her dress color :)

I'm having a bridesman. He is just going to walk by himself and our sides won't match but the best weddings are when u make them your own and things are fun and different :) mines not even gay we're just like brother and sister but my brothers are going to be groomsmen. It's your wedding and you should have who you want next to u :)

These boards really help you put things into perspective. Ladies I think all if your advice will help her faster than she thinks. It wasn't even my question but I live your replies and sincere answers.

I am having a man of honor AND a maid of honor. All tradition is out the window with our wedding. I have 2 bridesmen and four bridesmaids. He has eleven groomsmen. Hot mess, lol.
