Hi girls--does anyone have an uneven number of bridesmaids to groomsmen? We kind of do and its a long awkward story. Does the uneven BP bother anyone who has it?

I have more GM than BM, and although it's uneven, I'm not worrying about. The most important people in my life are standing up next to me and for me and that's all that matters!!

FH hasn't made his final decisions yet, but it will probably be uneven.
I really couldn't care less. I'm just going to have everybody walk alone, really - I think we'll probably do it that FH and the guys are already standing up there, and my MOH and bridesmaid will each walk alone down the aisle ahead of me. It's really so not a big deal. It seems so silly to me all of this trying to maneuver things so that you have even pairs... you should have people up there who are important to you, not the people who make your wedding look symmetrical!

Alot of people wind up symmetrical, and I always wonder if it actually just happened like that or there was maneuvering of some sort, but thinking about it, it is pretty bad just to get it to look 'even'

Ours started at 8GM 7BM
Then 3 dropped out, so we ended up with: 7GM 5BM
I didn't really care that it was uneven. You can do all you can to make your BP even, but there are sometimes things that happen beyond your control.
At my brother's wedding one of the BMs dropped out 2 days prior because her best friend got into a horrific car accident in Georgia. You never know.

I have more Groomsmen than Bridesmaids, which bothers me a SMIDGE, but not enough to make an issue out of it.

we have the same number of BMs to Groomsmen.. however i have to Junior BMs no flower girl but we have a ring bearer

i feel the same way although our party isnt official yet..however im SURE that well have more groomsmen than BMs.
my friend just got married and had uneven amounts. what she did was have most of them walk in couples, and then had two guys walks with one girl to even it out at the end. it was really fine and not awkward at all.
in my opinion id rather have uneven pictures than honor someone that doesnt deserve to be a bridesmaid. i have no problem having two guys walk one girl. it seems to solve the problem..

We have two best men, 1 MOH, 2 GM, and 2 BM. Doesn't bother me at all. FH on the other hand - well, he is a math major so the lack of symmetry is making him nuts. I told him it was his fault since he HAD to have 2 best men, and the other two guys in the BP. My girls consist of my sister, my oldest and dearest friend (we met in 8th grade), and my closest college buddy. Between the three of them we have 76 years together (which I might add is more than he has with his 4 guys). There is absolutely no other female in my life that I have that kind of history with, so there was no way I was adding anyone just to make him happy.

Our BP was uneven...most people did not even notice unless they were at the ceremony. I had my cousin Sue start the procession by walking in alone, but we also could have opted to double up two BM with one GM.
The pics looked fine too.

I have one MOH and FH wants two GM's..Because he can not choose between the two of them.......I Said, it will make the pictures out of balance.

Even the best planned weddings cannot predict people dropping out at the last minute. (drama, emergencies, etc...).
So, do the best planning but go with the flow if that does not work on the day of.
