Bridal Party Issues
Have you been (negatively) surprised by any member(s) of your bridal party? I'm having a few tough issues, and I just wanted to know what everyone else's experience is/has been.

Re: Bridal Party Issues
Heck yeah! Three of my friends agreed to contribute a certain amount of money for my shower and didn't follow through. My sister and MIL wound up having to put in their difference. I thought that was BS.I know this sounds pretty sh!tty and I'm sure someone is going to have something to say about this, but one of my BM (the same one that only contributed about $25 to my shower) gave me a very small gift for the wedding. I know I shouldn't look at it this way, but I spent more on her (gift, paid for shoes to be dyed, bo-k) than she spent being in my wedding (dress, shower, shower gift, wedding gift.)
Of course I'm still friends with her, but I can't help but look at her a little differently.

Thanks! I was starting to think I was nuts. One party member in particular (the closest one) has really hurt me a little. This wedding planning has turned our friendship into some revelation for me, for real.

Re: Bridal Party Issues
Yes--- and all it really is a lack of enthusiasm..Everyone I have known in my BP with the exception of FSIL and SIL, and my Jr BM- who is FH's cousin.. I have known for a minimum of 11 years, some 15.. be a LITTLE excited and happy for me people!!
My rationale is that the wedding is still months away, so as it gets closer, maybe their excitement will build a bit.. It's not everyone-- just one or two.

Re: Bridal Party Issues
It bothers me because I always try to be there for them and go out of my way! Way out of my way! Then they do nothing and are so self absorbed! But...whatever...I know who I can count on now. Better I find out this way!

I cannot say enough GREAT thins about my MOH!! She went above and beyone to make my day super special and it was AWESOME!!However, 2 of my BMs caused a few problems and a lot of hurt feelings, but theres not much I can do about it....I just looked at how great my other 2 BMs and my MOH were....and Wow, the 3 of them ROCKED!

Re: Bridal Party Issues
Yes, unfortunately, my MOH really disappointed me in the months leading up to my wedding, and completely disappeared during the reception. Needless to say, I have no relationship with this person anymore.I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your BP.

Re: Bridal Party Issues
Only the MOH...she's done nothing but argue every decision I made...she refuses to get her hair and make up done unless I pay, she didn't like the dress I picked (which was simple and black so they are flattering and can be reworn)...she wanted bigger flowers, I could go on and on...and guess what its 3 days before my wedding and I haven't heard from her in weeks! I don't even know if she got her dress fitted yet!!!

Re: Bridal Party Issues
there was one person that didnt contribute anything to my shower and she is my oldest friend. she didnt even offer to help my mom out with writing invitations or anything. my sister not only embarssed me at my wedding by getting falling down drunk and cursing at my boss but she came to the wedding i paid for her dress and shoes and shawl and to get her hair done and she didnt even get me a 99 cent card. my brother was my man of honor and he was just amazing i couldnt ask for anyone betterWelcome New Vendors
