Ok, I have already picked my bridal party, it is my sister, a friend from LI and two friends from college, I have 4 girls and FH has 5 guys, everything is fine and dandy or so I think... I am in NY for Easter and from more then one of my relatives I find out that my 17 year old cousin is upset she is not in my bridal party!!!! Now she is my goddaughter but she is also 13 years younger then me and everyone in the bridal party is 30++. I am starting to feel guilty that I didn't ask her but I also have 3 other cousin the same age that would get jealous if she was in it!! What should I do???
*my FH says NO she is too young and won't be able to participate in stuff like the bacholorette party etc..

Re: Bridal Party Problems
IMO-Don't change your bridal party but asking her to do a reading is a great idea! (IF you want to include her in some way)

Re: Bridal Party Problems with poll
I think if you wanted to ask her, you should regardless of whether she can attend a bachelorette party. If she is your Goddaughter, that alone justifies you having her and not your other 3 cousins. It's your decision, do what you want, but don't do it out of obligation.....

I think if you are going to ask her to be something - make it a jr. bridesmaid - and you can justify it to your other cousins (if you needed to) because she is your god-daughter.

Have her do something special like you have in the poll... either do a reading, or have her take pics of your guests if you are having that... there's always something someone can do to help.

I think this is completely up to you; however, I wouldn't let her age be a factor.
I asked my first cousin, who is 16, to be a bridesmaid. She was so excited and I know it means a lot to her. I don't mind that she won't be at my bachelorette party; half of my bridal party won't be there (oot). I'm very close with my cousin and she's more of a little sister to me.
Think about why you didn't ask her. If age is the only reason, ask her.

I agree with that also. She could hand out whatever your guests throwing (if you are) after the ceremony also. (I did that at a cousin's wedding)

Add someone to your BP with 5 months to go??? No, I wouldn't. Especially not a 17 yr old who might end up being irresponsible with getting her gown and things of the sort.
Your BP should be made up of people YOU chose for specific reasons... not because you felt obligated or pressured.
I would definitely give her a special role in the wedding though - like doing a reading or handling something important at the reception.

What about having her be a Jr. bridesmaid of sorts. I realize she's a little older than that but this way she will excluded from certain things?
I don't know, just and idea but probably not the best idea.
