Bridal Party question

Okay... i am having some problems. I am getting married in Sept 2011. Since I have been engaged, my friends have hinted to me about bridal party. Let me give you background first.

I have two sisters, three female CLOSE cousins, and a soon to be sister in-law and i am in her wedding in a few months. Thats already six!

I originally was going to keep it at six but i dont mind having a big party (FH kinda does).

I have about 5 other close girlfriends (from elementary school, high school and college) who i know want to be in it...

and i kinda caved b.c one of them was really into everything and wanting to help me out with stuff....

Also out of them I am the first one getting married.

One of my friends told me just to tell her that i am just keeping it family, which i cant see myself doing

What should I do...do u think its too big cause i could deal with 8...but 11? thats big and uneven... and i am having my engagement party soon so when do i tell everyone about this?

Re: Bridal Party question

I was going through the same issues when i was choosing my BP. I have a lot of really close GF's that i would have loved to be in but when it came down to it, FI and I decided we didn't want to have a big BP.

So my BP consists of my two MOHs (my two best friends), my 2 cousins, and FI's sister (FSIL).

I would have liked to add 2 more girls to the BP but FI thinks it would start getting out of control, plus that would mean he would have to come up with 3 more guys (my 2 MOH's are walking down with the 1 BM) and he has no one else he would want to include. I am going to ask the other 2 girls if they would like to do a reading or something at the mass because I really want them to be include in the WP.

As far as the uneven concern, IMO I wouldn't make yourself crazy about keeping things even. It really isn't that big of deal when you think about it. I am having an uneven BP and we are perfectly fine with it.

im dealing with the same thing... im not announcing bridal party for a little while though.. originally i was thinking of doing it in january but now i might wait till july when my wedding is a year away.... i have a sister (moh) and his sister FSIL will def be in it... then i have one girl cousin and i have 2 friends from High school and 2 friends from college... all together thats 7...Plus my 4 yr old cousin as the flower girl ...

* my dilema is if whether or not i should ask my brothers girlfriend who has been around for about 5 years... i worked with her and weve gone away together and stuff so right now thats my big issue...

FH has a bigger problem... he doesn't know who to pick for best men he has about 3 friends hes known forever and no brothers..... and while 2 best man is reasonable 3 is def not so idk what hes gonna do.... besides that he has a total list of 11 which he has to cut it down to atleast 9 otherwise its gonna be a circus lol

... ITS SO STRESSFUL!!! we will all figure it out in the end though... i def wouldn't ask anyone too soon cause things may change !

Re: Bridal Party question

the thing is.... it was kinda known that i will use my sister and cousins and my fiances brother's soon to be wife in it and that already made it 6!

and i already asked one of my friends over the weekend and she was super excited.... so thats 7

then who am i gonna pick out of my other 4 friends ....cause 11 is huge

and with you, i would def ask your brother's gf (as long as you think their relationship will last)... and u will have 8 in ur party and thats a good even number ....for pictures its eight couples on each side ! lol

i like an even party and i know that sounds stupid....im kinda ocd like that

im just so stressed about this and i feel horrible excluding some of my friends!!!

i would be careful with the brothers girlfriend situation, if they get engaged thats better, but if they ever broke up, shes in your wedding pictures forever, hell always be reminded of her! good luck!

Re: Bridal Party question

Two things...

I woudn't let anyone pressure you. Do what you feel is best. This is your wedding honey! Definitely try not to stress over this.

Also, it is inevitable that not everyone you choose now for your BP will be in the wedding later. Things happen and cause some to have to drop out. Just wanted to put that out there.

I have a HUGGGGGGEEEE family so it's a given that I'm going to have a big BP. We're at 14 so far and can't really take anyone out. We're hoping for drop outs but that would only really bring us down to 12.

i have 9. i figure the more the merrier! you can't help that you have a lot of friends and family members. don't sacrifice what you really want to do based on a number.... my cousin had 14 bridesmaids and she had not regret about it
