Bridal party question

Hi everyone! So I have a dilemma with my bridal party. I have a group of 5 friends who I am very close with who I would like to make my bridesmaids. However, my FH has decide he does not want to have groomsmen or a best Man. He does not care what I do and has no problem with my having as many bridesmaids as I want. He just isn't very social and doesnt have a super close group of friends that he wants to ask to be groomsmen.

So here is what I am wondering....is it going to look weird if I have bridesmaids and he doesn't have groomsmen? I definitely plan to have a maid of honor (my best friend who set us up on a blind date) and I may be able to convince him to pick his uncle or his dad as a best man. Will me having bridesmaids make it look like he doesn't have friends?? Or am I overthinking it?

Any help would be appreciated....I haven't talked to my friends yet until I figure this out!

I think you are over thinking it. Just do whatever makes the two of you happy. We are not doing a bridal party at all and we are thrilled with out decision.

I'm in a similar situation - my fiance has always said he would only have a Best Man but no groomsmen, because he has quite a few friends and cousins but only the one friend he really wants as part of our wedding. I have a sister who is immediately my Maid of Honor, so if we want to keep thing symmetrical I can't really have bridesmaids.

I've certainly seen weddings with unbalanced wedding parties and I think it absolutely depends on what you're comfortable with. It feels awkward to me to have our wedding party be so skewed in my direction so I've decided to follow my fiance's lead. That's just me, though - you should do what feels right! If its important to have your friends involved, you should do it! I'm sure you could figure out a way to arrange the ceremony so that it won't feel awkward.

I really don't think it matters, I would say have in your bridal party whoever you would want in your wedding. I have seen unbalanced bridal parties and honestly don't think it looks weird.

Today anything goes. What ever makes you happy and makes your wedding special. In pictures they will situate the group shots around the both of you. Its not like the photographer will stand all the girls at your side and leave him at the end. At the ceremony alot of the time i have seen girls walk down alone. People always know the MOH is right before you. Unless it really bothers You i dont think your guest will even realize. Todays weddings are not traditional. Its all persoal touch.

Whatever you decide will be wonderful because it's your wedding! And if you decide in the end that a balanced bridal party is important to you, you can always honor the rest of your friends in other ways- asking one to do a reading, or one to officiate (we had my husband's cousin, who is more like a sister to him, officiate, rather than asking her to be a bridesmaid). The great part about your wedding is that you can do whatever you want and it will be awesome!
