BRIDAL PARTY SIZE

Hi Girls --

How many bridesmaids are you having?

How big is 'too big' ??

Originally I only wanted one cousin in the wedding, but coming from a large Italian family I would be insulting so many people if I don't have EVERYONE ...

...and by EVERYONE I am up to 12 bridesmaids (13 with MOH) and only 8-9 groomsmen.

What do you guys think??

Must be Italians I have 8 girls 8 guys 2 flower girls 1 ring bearer 2 ushers and a partridge in a pear tree.....I think it's going to be more stressful but I have reasons for each one of them...as long as it makes you happy and doesn't cause a fire hazard I saw go for it

I have a small wedding and I have 6 and 6, my friend is having a big wedding and she is having 10 and 10. Her sister had 18 on each side! There's no rule, it really is whatever will make you happy. If you want to include everyone then go ahead. And it's OK to have more girls than guys, it doesn't have to be even. Good luck!

In My opinion there is never enough. I feel like it is easier on the girls when they have more people to plan your shower. I have a VERY large italian family and Im close with so many cousins that I didnt feel right including one without the other. I have one MOH 8 Bridesmaids 4 Junior Bridesmaids ( they are all teenagers) and one flower girl. haha

Also I have much fewer guys. I think FH only wants 6 or so in the BP. and I honestly dont care if its even. As long as the people you love are standing with you on your big day it will all be worth it :)

I have 6 and 6 plus 1 FG. No such thing as too big. The only thing to take into account with a larger bridal party are the extra expenses such as bouquets, boutonnieres, transportation and a thank-you gifts.

I think there is no 'size limit' on this kind of a thing- its really whatever YOU feel you're up for and is right for your wedding. Just make sure they are people that you plan to have in your future- I have been in a few weddings where I don't even speak to the bride anymore.

Personally, I have decided on a MOH and a BM and that's it. I didn't want to deal with the drama that I knew would ensue by including everyone. Didn't need people to be offended on who I didn't choose either. Since I have a sister and my fiance` has a brother we just thought it would be easier and cheaper for all! HTH!

I'm going to be having a large bridal party - 2 MOH/2 BM, 10 bridesmaids and 5 groomsman. Although I haven't asked anyone yet, I couldn't just choose between my family (4 sisters and 1 SIL) and friends. So I chose both!

Yah I think it is easier on the bridesmaids obviously when you have more so they can split the costs, but I think its better and easier on you to keep it small. Less things to stress about and have to worry about hair/makeup/gifts etc.

I originally had 4 girls (including MOH), but then I told FH to add another groomsman so then he had 5 guys and we wanted it to be even so I'm going to ask another friend.

But she really IS a good friend to me and I feel as if she should be in our bridal party anyway. I wanted to keep it small, but we have a lot of people we care about. We are very lucky :)

So I also have 2 older cousins (30's) one is married - I was in her wedding - and the other is not -- but they are going to be upset if I don' ask them...this is going to be a circus! So if I include them it will be:
2 Matrons of Honor --
1 MOH -
12 BM
8-9 groomsmen

I think its too much if I include them as matrons of honor. My cousins son is going to be a ring bearer, but my other cousin is not married yet...

thanks for your input. I'm stresing!

Don't forget, you can always include them other ways. They can do reading or bring up the gifts (if having a mass).

THIS!! The more people involved, the more money spent: bigger limos, more gifts to buy, bigger rehearsal dinner....I have four bm and I wish I had less!! LOLOL

I don't think there's such a thing as 'too big.' I do think that it is more of a true honor to be part of a small bridal party. But I tried to keep mine small and it's 6 and 6, which is more mid-size for bridal parties.

We have 6 guys and 4 girls so far. I am still deciding if I should add 2 girls because it being uneven bothers me (I'm weird). No FG, RB or ushers. If it was up to me it would only be 3 guys and 3 girls but my FH really wanted his 6 guys.
