Bridal Reflections in Carle Place
I finally made an appointment to try on wedding dresses at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place at the end of February! Would any of you lovely ladies who have tried on/bought wedding dresses at Bridal Reflections be willing to offer any advice/tips/opinions? Or any advice/tips about trying on wedding dresses in general? Thanks!

Hi fellow Swannie
lol I said yes to the dress at Bridal Reflections Massapequa location. Some tips I can give for going dress shopping in general is to wear a strapless bra (if you own one) if not no big deal. Some salons will give you one (Bridal Reflections did) or you just try on the dresses in your reg bra. Wear full coverage panties. You don't want to be in a thong and having your butt exposed to your consultant while getting in and out of dresses lol Also, since being plus size I wore a high waisted shape wear panty so it covered my stomach and it made me feel a little more comfortable. I didn't wear it on my 1st appt and it was weird being so exposed lol Bring a clip for you hair if you plan to wear it loose. After getting in and out of dresses it tends to get a little warm and you don't want to have your hair in your face lol Plus you might just want to pull it back so its not covering your shoulders/dress.
As far as the actual dress goes, communicate what your looking for if you know what that is, bring pix or if there is a specific dress you want to try get the name or style # so you can let them know. Also, be willing to try on every style so you know exactly what will look best on your body. Sometimes things you wouldn't think look good actually do, or what doesn't look so nice on the hanger will look great on.
I hope some of this helps, Good luck! :)

Great advice from Jassy!I'm a Bridal Reflections in Manhattan bride, but I have been very happy with BR. I think it really depends on who you get to work with you in the shop.
Be assertive. Be politely firm if they are not giving you enough attention. You know, 'You seem busy, should I maybe come back another time?'
If you feel overwhelmed or intimidated, THEY should be helping you relax and focus. You don't HAVE to find a dress that day. A dress you weren't even interested in one day, maybe exactly what you want to see another day.
Overall, it should be a fun experience. If its not, don't push it or be upset with yourself. You'll find a dress when you are ready.
Have fun!

Although i didn't end up buying from them, i found the dress of my dreams at Bridal Reflections Carle Place. They have an excellent selection of dresses and the employees are very knowledgable and helpful.Definitely bring pictures...if it's your first time shopping be open to all silhouettes and shapes...let the attendant make suggestions, they know what will look good on you. Don't buy immediately. Make note of what you like and then shop around, so when you do finally make a purchase you won't regret that you bought too fast.

bridal reflections massapequa was the first & best overall 'experience' i had, but for sure wear good underwear like jassy said- the consultants definitely were more 'helpful' inside the dressing room than any other place!
