Re: bridal reflections of massapequa
My girls bought their dresses there and had no problems at all. I'm in a bridal party that has also bought the dresses there, and so far we've all had a good experience.

Re: bridal reflections of massapequa
I tried on dresses there and found them to be very nice and very helpful. I didn't find anything there, but I did thought it was a nice place. BTW, I'm not sure what price range you are looking in, but according to the saleswoman, BR in Massapequa carries less expensive gowns than the BR in Westbury. I never got to look at bridal gowns in the BR in Westbury, b/c they were closed the day I was looking. But my mom got her dress there and they were really nice and helpful there, too!

Re: bridal reflections of massapequa
I bought my dress at BR of Massapequa, as did my cousin. We both loved the saleswomen and the selection (dresses are about $1000 and up). My cousin is going through the fitting process there now and says they are a little stressed and busy but other than that, no complaints. I found them to be one of the only shops on LI that carried higher end dresses but were not snobby. Overall, highly recommended!

Re: bridal reflections of massapequa
I bought my gown from them and aside from a miscommunication problem about the alterations they were wonderful. I had a cap on my alterations but when my gown came in the seamstress tried to charge me extra to bustle my cathedral length train. I got the manager involved and the problem was handled quickly and properly by her. The gown fit me perfectly. I loved wearing it.
I forgot to add my BM's alsp purchased their gowns at BR. They got a discount because I bought mine there.

Re: bridal reflections of massapequa
I had tried on dresses there and found them to be so nice. They were not pushy either. I would definitely go back there again when I plan to make a decision.

Re: bridal reflections of massapequa
I guess I'm alone on this one . . . I was in a bridal party of 4 girls . . . .NONE of the alterations were correct the first time. . .2 of the girls were suppose to have a beaded edge added to their dresses. . .they paid for the dresses and the extra beading and then realize that they never put the beading on and had to bring them back. . .The other girl had alterations done but had the bride pick the dress up the day bf the wedding and when she tried it on the skirt was falling off . .they didn't even touch it!! and the top was too tight. Mind you both pieces were very big to begin with. . .my mother had to quickly do the alterations at 11pm the night bf the wedding!! Since my mom sews she usually does any alterations I need so all I wanted to do was pick up the dress and I got the BIGGEST attitude. . .eyes rolling, heavy breathing, smirking and hard page flipping (because you have to make an appointment to pick up the dress) The other girls there were nice . . .I would rethink alterations there.
Just my experience .. . I will be looking else where

Re: bridal reflections of massapequa
I guess I caught them on an 'off' day. The salesgirl that helped me was not very helpful. I told her what I didn't want and she still brought out those types of dresses.
They keep all the gowns behind closed doors, so you can't 'look around'. They do have a big selection and I was told that most of their dresses are over $1500.
It is a beautiful salon. I recommend going during the week when its less crowded. I went on a Saturday morning and it was packed.

Re: bridal reflections of massapequa
I was at Bridal Reflections this Saturday and they were very busy. I worked with kristy, she was very informative. I have alot of time and i do want to look around. I did see a few dresses that wowed me! I also have heard good things about the seamstress. A few of my friends, (married) recommended that I to go to BR of Massa.
Good luck!

linda .... lol, ur not alone
one reason I didnt go to bridal reflections is b/c I live near there and heard a lot of horror stories of workers being really rude
two of my friends went there and didnt use them bc they found the workers rude
I do not have any experiences w/ them but I have heard only bad things from people who have been there

Re: linda .... lol, ur not alone
My best friend went to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa and the lady was very rude to us and even told us to go somewhere else because they 'didn't have what we were looking for.' So she went to the one in Carle Place and got a dress there. They were so nice there and extremely helpful. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to the one in Massapequa, but I would try the Carle Place store. Good Luck!

Re: linda .... lol, ur not alone
We had to wait a long time past our scheduled appointment before they were ready for us. The saleslady was just ok, kinda pushy and trying to talk me out of the dress I loved (she felt I needed a 'poofier' dress since Lands End has a big ballroom - since when does the size of the place impact the dress decision?)
Anyway, I found the dress I loved there (so I'm grateful to them for that - it was the only salon I veer saw it in), but I ordered it elsewhere (for a couple hundred less).

I would stay away!!
MissLinda told the story of all my girls, but I will add that when I went to pick up that bridesmaids dress, it was not even ready!! I had called to tell them she unexpectedly had to go out of town, her mom was sick. She had had the 1 fitting, so I told them I would pick the dress up 2 days before the wedding. I got there, AND NOTHING WAS DONE TO THE DRESS!!! Well needless to say, such an attitude I got! I had a fit!! What idiot there did not understand the words 'I'll pick up the dress.' ?!!! If I am picking it up, do I want it unfinished!! Well, anyway, Linda's mom fixed it, so in the end, my bridesmaid was fine. But I got crappy treatment from BR in Massapequa & could not recommend them in good conscience!

Re: Bridal reflections in Massapequa ---and 1st time looking for dress
I got my dress at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. My 'consultant' was Darnell and she was a complete sweetheart. I was the first appointment on a Friday and had the entire store to myself - I was actually in the closets with Darnell looking for dresses that I wanted to try on. I have yet to go for fittings or have alterations, but I have no complaints so far. They did order the wrong headpiece for me, which they rectified (they had transposed the number) but they rectified it immediately and let me take the sample to my hair trial.
As for being the first time trying on dresses - go in with an idea of what style you want - and if you have pics from magazines, etc., even better!
Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Re: Bridal reflections in Massapequa ---and 1st time looking for dress
I just ordered my gown about 3 weeks ago from Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. They had a dress I was looking for, for months. Which by the way I was told cannot be found anywhere other than the FIRST salon I went too! But I won't get into my 'horror story' about that place. Hee hee. My consultant at BR was Gloria, she was wonderful! I had already knew the dress I was going to order, BUT, when I went she blocked out 1 1/2 hours for me and me alone! She had a couple of other gowns, in different price ranges all ready for me to try on, just in case I saw something else. I did go with my original dress in the end. She was sooo helpful! I'd recommend them to anyone, however, I'm sure they have their share of horror stories, as do ALL salons.
I can also add that a friend of mine ordered her dress about 2 years ago from them, loved them and so did her sister! I can say that I went into the Bridesmaids boutique around the corner and they were a little snotty, so I didn't look there yet for BM's gowns... But, I guess we all have bad days!
I hope I helped a little
Good luck where ever you go!
PS - a little tip - when trying on a gown, I heard NOT to try it right away with a headpiece and veil until you find something you love - I thought that was helpful! This way you know you love the dress and the headpiece and veil just add to the beauty!
Edited to say:
Don't rule out anything they give you to try on... Meaning, I thought I was going to buy something with straps or sleeves and ended up with STRAPLESS! You may think a halter is NOT what you're looking for but when you try it on, it may be the ONE!! Who knows!! Good luck!

Re: Bridal reflections in Massapequa ---and 1st time looking for dress
I don't have any info on bridal reflections but I agree that you should also try on dresses that you never thought you would like. I went in with pics of dresses with all this stuff on the top and never ever thought of a strapless dress and then wound up with a gorgeous strapless which is the last thing I would have thought I would have Loved.
