Bridal Salons in Brooklyn or Queens

Does anyone know of Bridal salons in Brooklyn or Queens that take walkins? The only one I could find is Lestans in Brooklyn. Thanks!

I don't know if they take walkins but Charmet's on Bell Blvd has gowns. I got my veil there and they were really easy to work with and the price was a little better then I expected.

I heard horrible things about lestans.

I am getting my dress from Valentina's. I am not sure about the walk in though.

I love love love Valetina's and its worth a look

Thanks :) I actually went to Charmet on Bell Blvd. They were very nice. My wedding is in June and I still haven't gotten my dress! I've also been to Bridal Reflections and Flowerama. I'm making this week 'dress shopping week.' I have an appointment with the bridal center in Macy's in Manhasset. My Mom and Fi are driving me crazy. They insist that I need to order a dress NOW or I won't have one in time. Any thoughts?

Chippatrid, where is Valentina's? When I called up Lestans, there was so much background noise...sounded as though the brides were taking over the place...ehehhehehe :)

I ordered my dress in March 2002 for my November 2002 wedding...the dress came in August if I remember correctly, I think you still have some time.

I actually bought my dress at Macys in Manhasset and it was the best service ever! I absolutely loved that store and all the ladies were wonderful. IMO...its awesome, they help you a lot, have tons of patience..and if you get Charmaine...she is just great! Good luck!

Re: Bridal Salons in Brooklyn or Queens

I am not sure where they are located but here is the phone number

718 837 5757

(I inserted the link for the website at the bottom)

They are really wonderful in there. (have a budget in mind) They dont tell you who the desingner is until you leave a deposit but I didnt find that to be an issue because you can always look inside for the tags or you can always do a search on line for the type of dress it is and see what comes up. My dress though is a custom made dress by the owner of the store. The sales girl told me that because I was really excited about the dress and I guess even if I did go on line I wouldnt find it so no harm in telling me its by the owner.

The sales girl that is helping me brought out a dress I wasnt sure about when I saw it on the hanger, I put it on and was a little wishy washy on it. She said to me she saw the dress and it screamed my name.

The next day its all I could think about. I went back a week later and put it on again. I then went back a month later and put it back on just to see if my feelings were still strong about the dress. I fell in love with the dress all over again. I am going Aug 16 to finally leave a deposit.

Here is the website

(note the phone number is different on the website then the number I gave you. They have 2 phone numbers)

Valentina's

ETS: the dresses on the website are dresses the owner makes. My dress which is being made by the owner is 1800. I dont think that is too expensive especially for a custom made dress.

PS. Any dress that is over 1000 dollars the store also includes free things like your headpiece or veil, slip, etc...

I know there is a bridal shop on Austin Street in Forest Hills (can't think of the name though)...I didn't get my dress there...but I did walk in to ask about a BM dress in the window and they were very helpful and seemed like they would take a walk in

I keep forgetting things:

They also have a great selection of designers for gowns, MOB dresses and BM's dresses.

My girls are getting their BM's from there and the designer is Bari Jay.

I'm using Charisol Bridal on Northern Blvd. between 159th St. & 160th St.

When I first went I just waltzed right in.

There service is pretty good. My dress is already in.

Re: Bridal Salons in Brooklyn or Queens

I went to only one bridal salon in Queens and all I can say is STAY AWAY!!! I don't know if they talk walk-ins but the owner (I think) strongly believes in pressuring you to buy a dress. She didn't allow me to pick any dresses I might like, saying that she's the expert and I'm not, so I should leave everything in her hands. When I tried on this one dress, I thought it was OK, but she told me that that would be the dress that I would walk down the aisle in. But she got a bit snotty when I told her that I would not buy any dress without my mother present, and she said that she couldn't guarantee that this dress would be around the next day. She would not allow me to leave the store until I made another appointment. It was awful. I cancelled the appointment several days later and they kept calling me to reschedule. I forgot the name of the place but it starts with a B and it's on Austin St. in Forest Hills.
